We just had a lesson and my teacher said that it is a general fact that women live longer than men. Which is true.
Reasons:
1. Men tend to hide their feelings and do not express themselves while women are more expressive and therefore can have positive thoughts.
2. Women are more sensitive to others' feelings and could relate with other people most especially in the spiritual and emotional fields.
3. Men tend to have more vices than women.... Smoking, drugs, alcohol drinking, having a lot of sexual affairs with other women and most of the time it causes depression and ruins their health and lifestyle.

So.... what do you all think of this? In your opinion, is this true or not?

That does not mean women THINK MORE, it means they USE MORE AREAS OF THE BRAIN. Just like you said. But that does not mean a woman is smarter. Intelligence depends on the number of nerve connections within the brain.

Women eat generally healthier foods, they generally exercise more and they go to the doctor alot more than men. (Ya know, those yearly check-ups) I'm surprised no one too those factors into account. Nutrition would seem to be a more important factor on how long you live, than if you express your feelings or not.

i agree with barkid on this one, ya gotta look @ both sides... you can't just throw all that @ the guys, that's not very fair..

Out of curiosity, why did you teacher fail to mention the counterpoints:

1.counterpoint: Women also tend to express these thoughts at the most inoppurtune time, I.E. during the football game, or when I just had a bad day at work.
2. Women are more sensitive to others' feelings and could relate with other people most especially in the spiritual and emotional fields.
2.counterpoint: This also means women are more gullible and susceptible to trickery and treachery.
3.Men tend to have more vices than women.... Smoking, drugs, alcohol drinking, having a lot of sexual affairs with other women and most of the time it causes depression and ruins their health and lifestyle.
3.counterpoint: Women are more likely to be unable to control or defeat the above vices, also, whom are all these men having sexual affairs with, other than strippers, prostitutes, and girls they pick up from the bar?

Freedom, I don't think that it was meant to bash any gender. It's just some facts. They are known to be true for the most part. And we are talking women and men of the same age group that are compared, I learned this in school one time. It's just something that Jamaica found interesting and wanted to share. I think that some of you are really going overboard with some of these arguments. Im sure that if someone else had started this, it would be as contraversial.I'm not saying that to take sides but I think that no one wants to agree with someone that they really dont like. Anyways, I think that it was some very interesting points. Ok on that note I now believe that before any more argueing errupts, this thread should die.

True. But some of the time Jamaica deserves it.

I think that I read something similiar to this somewhere. You guys shouldn't make fun of Jamaica just because you don't agree. I do believe that this is just generalization not every man does these things and not every woman don't. It's just stating some of the causes to this. I do agree with it for the most part, it does make sense and I'm sure that you could even look it up yourselfs.

Maybe because women arent underwater welders, the majority of the millitary is made up of men. Yes men have more vices like what you said, but hey we're having fun, is having fun wrong? I'm starting to think jamaica hates living life to its full potentcial.

men expire faster because they have all the "baggage" on their Y chormasome, and are therefore weaker, and expire more easily. This "baggage" contains all the history of the human genome, and all the stuff that just takes up space, and wieghs us down.

Jamaica, i'm not surprised by how stereotypical that is, but i must say, i am dissapointed. You're associating everyone with everything else. it's not accurate OR credible/.

I think some of it might be true, but certainly not for all.
