There is no way that, "why don't you look it up?"and "did you bother to look at the source the Wikipedia article provided?" is akin to you saying you don't know the answer. It is not very passive when you are saying. "are you too dumb to know yourself (I wasn't)?"

I feel sorry for you guys since when you don't know something you go on the defensive and start screaming. You guys need to learn to say, "I don't know the answer."

Please provide proof that shows Bushsupporter and I claim wikipedia is the only credible source we will look. This is a down right lie, as both of us have criticized you for using wikipedia in the past. It is a shame you have resorted to lying.

What's so hard with looking it up yourself? I linked the article. My original post clearly indicated my amazement at just learning this fact, meaning I'm ignorant about it. You're just weird.

So canvas, you deny that you have called wikipedia a source in previous posts?

Same thing. By telling another person to look up an answer, you're passively admitting that you don't know said answer.

Oh God. clpo13, just ignore them, they're bitter over the political issues we have.

If I knew how, Bushsupporter, I would have answered. That wasn't the point of the thread; and you don't have to jump on everything I say joey, God. I dislike the US's policies, you love them. We won't change each other's minds, so whatever. But if you want to know something, look it up and post it as another interesting fact. This thread is blatant humanity! We're arguing over NOTHING. Humans in action. I bet we're the #1 show on the Universal Network, on the Comedy Channel. The little guys watching us from the next galaxy have probably been wiped-out entirely because of our stupid fighting (notsojoey and bushsupporter, "our" as in "humanity," not the people here in the thread).

Again, though: stop busting my hump.

Clpo13, just ignore them. It'll cost the Aspirin guys some money but I'm sure they can manage.

No, I didn't. I said you're more likely to find it credible than what I gave you (even if the Wikipedia guys themselves use my sources as credible ones). How obvious was it that I'm a girl by the way?

The issue is that this is the Internet. If a guy on the street asked me, of course I'd give him the information up front because he'd have no way to find the information while talking to me. However, on the Internet, anyone can find information instantly. If I had information only found in an obscure encyclopedia that I owned and no one else did, then I'd be sure to share it. But if information can easily be found using a search engine...I don't see why I need to do all the leg work.

And yes, I am acting like a jerk. It's more fun this way.

OK, I have graduated from college, I am capable of researching information. But if you told someone on the street about this story and he asked, "How did he get food, money, and clothes?" Would you tell him, "Go look it up yourself. I'm attempting to teach you the importance of verifying information independently. It's an important life skill. But if that's too difficult..." I doubt that you would. I think you would just tell him. especially since you brought it up. I don't see what the big deal is here. Unless it is an excuse for you and canvas to act like jerks. Well done, you have accomplished your mission.

You'd know, wouldn't you?

Wouldn't it be easier to just tell someone who asked a question? Or do you do this for moral superiority or to sound smarter than everyone else?

That's fine. If that is the way you respond to questions on your own boards, I guess that is your choice.

On my boards, I respond to questions that are posed to me about the topic. Since I am bringing the subject up, I feel that it is my responsibility to address questions. You don't. OK.

Also notsojoey, you asked me to explain; I told you look it up. That doesn't restrict you to my source, and unless you're trying to bust my hump here you would have either turned away and ignored it for lack of interest, or looked-up the answer to your question because you are interested. I just thought it was interesting a man lived in a terminal for sixteen years; if you want to know how he did it, then help yourself.
