I want to start an online support group for our soliders who are overseas. I want it get group of kids together who wants to do this too and to pick a solider to be a pen pal with. Instead of writing letters and waiting for snail mail to get to them, we could be pen pals with them using the internet. I just don't know how to get started so if anyone who wants to join in on this than post here.

Hey all. I think it's really great what you're doing. I'm a medic in the army, and I'm seventeen years old. When you're seventeen you can't be sent to Iraq, but my birthday is August 14th, and so I'm being deployed on the 20th. The army has several programs and we are allowed to use laptops (they're big on letting lus communicate with folks at home). I'm sure if you go to military websites like goarmy.com, they'd have a link to help get you started. There are alot of chatrooms there, and maybe you could get some names. I don't know enough about where I'm going to give you the info, but I'm sure you could be helped out at their website. good luck!

Writing to them is not a bad idea at all. They do so much for us that it'd be ridiculous not to take a couple of minutes out of your day to thank them!

I just joined. Though I'm constantly talking with soldiers, I want to get to know more and give them support. Let's see how it goes.
