gigitwin11@yahoo.comI would really like to be a part of this! A lot of kids aren't involved in this war . I want to be able to actually know what the soldiers are thinking and let them know that they're going to be alright and they're doing the right thing. They diserve to know that we're proud of them.[/QUOTE]

i'd love to be part of this is it gets started! i think you should try to see how other message sending services contact the soldiers, and see if we cant apply the same methods...

I have been looking for sites on this but all that I have been able to come up with is sites that you could send messages through. But I want to do something to where we could adopt a soldier and write to them and let them know that we still appreciate what they are doing over there in Iraq.

Count me in too! That's a great idea but good luck trying to find a place where we can! I'll stay posted.

You could find an organization that contacts soldiers with snail mail and start by just writing him a letter to ask permission before the internet is involved. That's my best idea- sorry.

All of you that have responded I want to say Thank You. This is better than I expected. Does anyone have any suggestions on who I can contact to get the ball rolling?

I'm in! I think it's a great idea. My second cousin was in Iraq and now he's home, but I wished there was a way for me to contact him and now I have the chance to contact other people there. I wouldn't pass that up. Smile

Well who would we get permission. I have always wanted to do something like this and one or two months ago I saw an episode of 7th Heaven where Ruthie had a soldier as a pen pal and they emailed each other. YouthVoice, I have a question for you. If it is no trouble for you than would you talk to your brother about this and see what he thinks about this and what we should do?

My brother is in Iraq, I'm always emailing him and there doesn't seem to be a problem. Good luck to you guys, let me know how it goes. Wink

I've actually been wanting to, but we might have a small problem. Even with snail mail the letters are looked over in case secrets are let out. The internet would be even more of a hassle for them so they might not allow the soldiers to communicate with us.

If you get permission. By all means. I'm in.
