Thousands of men and women are fighting or stationed overseas in many different countries. They are away from home, they're families and loved ones. Many of them get injured or pay the ultimate sacrifice with their lives. What are you doing to show your support to the troops? Do you know of any ways(organizations, groups, events, clubs, etc)for others that want to help to get involved? Share your ideas. Note: Please, whether you are against the war or not, this thread is only to talk about ways of showing support to the troops as a whole. I understand that many of you are passionate about that topic, but please do so in other threads that are about that. Thank you. I entered a new scholarship contest. You're welcome to help by voting or posting the link in other places. Thank you. http://tinyurl.com/2zmopx

Why does she have to be gone? Why? I hate you, God. I wanted to help, but how can I now? I hate you.

quote: 4theTroops - Coordinates the shipments of supplies, goods and gifts to our servicemembers abroad. Christmas for Troops - Paying Tribute to our Military Troops During the Holidays. Adopt a Platoon - Support the troops through gifts and sponsored mail. Any Soldier - Sponsor care packages to servicemembers in Iraq. A Million Thanks - Collects emails and letters of appreciation for our armed forces. Operation Gratitude - Contribute to care packages sent to our servicemembers. Operation Homefront Hugs - Contribute to care packages, or adopt a servicemember. Operation Troop Aid - Provide care packages for our deployed U.S. Servicemembers. That is awesome. Do you have the website addresses for the organizations that you mentioned?

Our youth leader is out of town, (I tried to call), so I don't know which organization we used, but these were some that one of my old teachers gave me: 4theTroops - Coordinates the shipments of supplies, goods and gifts to our servicemembers abroad. Thanks. I guess I was just scared. quote: Could you try and find out for others who may want to get involved?
Yeah, I'll ask my leader at our next meeting.

quote: I don't know if this is what you are looking for or not, but I know a girl who is currently stationed in Iraq - she was like my big sister. My family writes her letters a lot, and sends her things she needs because her family does not really support her decision to be in the army. I have not heard from her in a while though...I hope she's not... No. She can't be. She was like my sister. Oh, God...please... Sorry. That's not really what you wanted for this thread.
I would personally suggest that you Google her name. If something happened(which I really hope didn't) it should be on the papers. Or you can check out this site: http://www.militarycity.com/valor/valorsearch.phpAlthough, sometimes it is natural that you don't hear from them for some time, trust me, I know. So don't panic. On that page you can search someone by dates or by name. quote: Also, at my youth group in church, there is an organization (I'm not sure of the name) Could you try and find out for others who may want to get involved? Also, at my youth group in church, there is an organization (I'm not sure of the name) that sends us names of soldiers in Iraq, and we make them Christmas cards, or Thanksgiving or Valentine's Day, or just write them letters. That is really neat because sometimes they actually write back.
