Today is Memorial Day, a day in which we celebrate a long weekend, grill/cook out, and enjoy the weather. However, today, remember to think of the men and women who are currently-- and have in past years-- and those who have lost their lives in whatever Military Action they were involved in.
Although today is typically a day in which to remember the troops, also remember anyone who has lost their life tragically, unexpectedly, or before it was their time. Life in itself is a battle, and those who have been lost along the way also deserve recognition, love, and respect, just like those who have fought against enemies-- seen or unseen-- and those who have lost their lives abroad and at home fighting for what they believe is right.
That being said, the best thing you can do today, aside from remembering, is to spend time with those you love, and make sure to let them know how much you love and care for them.

I went to visit the grave of my friend who died in Iraq last month. I went by myself on my bike, and left something he would recognize from times we shared together, and laugh when he saw it. That is if he was looking down right now.

I agree. Last year I never even really thought about the war, but now I have a friend in Iraq and stuff... It means a lot more to me. Last year the war didn't really affect me personally, and now it does. Also I've had 3 friends die this past year, and Ikki said to not only remember those at war, but those who've lost their lives too, so I was thinking about them... Anyways, I'm really thankful for those who are willing to give their lives for...whatever the war is about and hope those over seas return home safely.
And I would never feel pain / and never be without pleasure, ever, again / and if the reign stops, and everything's dry, he would cry just so I could drink the tears from his eyes...

I went to cemetery today and put flowers on my brothers grave. We were there for hours. I miss him so bad.

Memorial Day meant a lot more to me this year than last year. Seldom does a day go by when our armed forces aren't on my mind anymore. Thoughts and prayers are with them always.

God bless all of those brave enought to give their lives for us, and let those over seas return home safe.
It must be lovely to wake up in the morning and understand everything.
