Hi, my name is Bella. I'm fourteen and i live in New York. I wanted to let you know that i understand the anxiety you must be feeling- i too, felt the terror of worrying about my parents just two Septembers ago in 2001. Right now, it's a scary time for all of us.
My cousin is in the military, and as a country, we ALL feel worried. But you shouldnt sweat it too much- we have the best army in the world and all the soldiers are taking care of each other. My cousin told me so! Smile The best part is, the heat is almost over, and most of the danger has past us. They'll be home before you know it, and then we can all be together, knowing that we are safe.
Also, if you're worried that your parents havent written you, you really shouldnt. Letters are really slow over there with all the changes- they have basically no postal system. So if you havent heard from them for a while, it doesnt mean anything.
I want you to know, though, despite all the rest, that we're here for you if you want to talk or vent. That's what YouthNoise is for!
Your Friend,
Bella

Everyone trys to tell you it will be ok. But most likely they have no idea on whats going on in your mind. However, both of my parents are home, but my 20 year old brother is over there. So I can partly understand what you are going through. It sucks that he is gone, expecially since we just started getting along better. But everthing will be ok. Smile

Hey guyz, I know I can't really relate to what you are going through but I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck!! Just remember that you should be proud of your parents for standing up for our country. God bless you!

Did you ever imagine one of your parents would be fighting in Iraq, maybe even the moment you are reading this? I can't think of how hard it must be; and I truly admire both parent and children for having this courage. I hope soon you will see your parents and rejoice.

Hello. i know what it is like to have a family mamber at war. My cousin has been to Afghanistan and i was scared for him. i consider him to be a big brother. having a cousin gone is scary, but when it comes to parents, it's terrifying. i hope the children of parents at war will know that they are in a lot of peoples prayers, including mine. God bless them, and God pless America.

Hi Everybody,

I just wanted to say hello to all of you that have parents that are off defending our country. I'm guessing that its pretty hard to have them gone, it would be hard if my mom or dad where off fighting, I'd miss them. If you all need someone to talk to and say "hey this really sucks, someone please listen to me" I can do that.

Dear Children of US Troops -
Be strong, your family will always be there for you. Dont be mad that your parents are fighting in the war, you should be proud of them. They are fighting to protect our country and that is a Great thing. Say thankyou to your parents and tell them that you love them and you think they arre doing a great thing. For them wanting to fight in the war they have a big heart and that is a great quailty. You may be upset and but dont worry things always get better. Remember to live and enjoy your life because im sure that is what your parents would want you to do.
Be strong

To the children who have family of the U.S. troops,

You should be happy that your family member is out fighting for your country. They will always be with you in your hearts no matter what happens. Pray for them every night to God. I know I pray every night for our troops and for those in Iraq. Be Happy Smile, not Sad Frown!!!!!

God Bless u All,
Krystal

I am hoping to all ends that your parents, and my friends come home. I sort of know how you feel, but I was very, very, lucky in that my father's unit has not been sent over yet. Know that you are being remembered and are loved! Your parents are doing something so great with their lives!! We all want everyone to come home safe!!!

much love and thanks, lydia

Look I know this is must be hard, and your probably thinking "WHAT DOES THIS GIRL KNOW ABOUT MY LIFE?" Just remember to stay strong. I'm lucky enough for my Dad to have gotten out of the Marines before I was born but my town is less than 30 miles away from from three major military bases so lots of people I know have gone to war. And I know you probably don't want to hear this but worrying doesn't do anything, just support them and the rest of your family. What your family member is doing is really important. I want to thank them, and you.

I give you my support, I truly hope that all the soldiers are able to come home safely and peacefully. I hope that when they return they return the same loving people they were when they left and I hope that when they return it will be as though they never left.

I give my support but I do not support the war at all. This war should have never taken place. There still is no found cause for the war. Instead of fighting poverty and hunger, here in his own country George W. Bush decided to fight a war that would kill more people and harm more children and create even more poverty and hunger in the world.

I give my support because the troops in Iraq shouldn't even have to face that danger. This war should never have happened.

You guys are really strong. You have a parent that is off in Iraq. If my dad or mom was in the war, i would be so scared. Just remember, everyone in Toronto is thinking of them, and we're praying for their safety. Cool Big Grin

If you think of it this way, your parents are out protecting you and your friends and me and my friends.... they are helping the whole U.S.A. When they are out there they are serving their country.
