Hello to the sons and daughters of the Troops,

I attend DuVal High school located in Lanham, MD. I am writing to say that I don't know how it feels to have a parent in the war but I know at times you miss your parent but don't feel bad the storm is almost over. When ever you get sad think of good times you have with your paren. Sit down and write a letter to thenm or even take a picture. Stay encouraged and keep your head up. Strive for excellence and make your parents proud. From: Lauren Nicely

Children of the Troops,

My name is Shelby Cosby, and I attend DuVal High School in Lanham Maryland. I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through with one or maybe even both of your parents away at war, all I can do is tell you that your parents are heroes, and people do appreciate what they are doing. I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Be strong, because knowing that your parents are heroes should give you great pride. Cool

Neither of my parents are in the army or anything like that but i do have a cousin who is in Iraq at this very moment. his name is caleb and he is only 20. he didnt join on his own, he had a choice...prison or the Army. he means the world to me and everyday i pray he will come home safe. he tells me how he has nightmares every night and how he just wants to turn the gun on himself sometimes. well thats all i really had to say.

Hi,
My name is Victoria and I’m from Maryland. I don't have parents in the war right now but I can imagine the feeling of not knowing if that he or she is coming back. I just wanted to express my condolences to those children experiencing it. I know the holidays are the hardest time to cope with not having your loved ones there to make it a Merry Christmas or to bring in the New Year. However, I want you to know that I appreciate their hard work, bravery, and courage in the war as they help fight for our nation. United we stand, divided we fall. Through my eyes, they are heroes, and you are lucky to have such parents. I hope you all keep strong and know that they're doing this for a cause. Remember those who do well are always rewarded somehow some way! Along with most of America, I will keep you and your parents in my prayers.
Love,
Victoria E.

Hello,
My name is Annie and I want to take a minute to tell you that America is an amazing country. I love everything that America stands for. I know that your parents are fighting for the best country there is because they too love America and everything that it stands for. I want you to know that as an American citizen I love and respect every soldier fighting for America because they are not only fighting to protect their country but they are also fighting to protect your family, my family and my friends. Everyone I know feels the same way about every soldier who risks their life to serve this great country. Please know that you are not alone because I pray for all the children of all the soldiers everyday. I know that everything is going to be ok and that soon your moms and dads will return home Big Grin

I just want to say that I am really proud of all the troops over in Iraq and I am proud of all of their families that have been strong through all time their loved one has been away. It takes a special person to fight for your country and it takes special families to be able to hold together through it. I will be thinking and praying for all of the troops and their families this Christmas and I pray for them to come home and come home safe. God bless the USA and I pray for everyone!! Smile

i just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone just because you have a mom or dad in Iraq. There are alot of other kids out there whose parents are gone, and their not the only ones. there are kids with parents in jail or parents who have problems. just remember that there is always someone out there who cares about you and pray for your parents and hope that the world makes it through this crisis.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. This holiday season may be rough not having one or both of your parents with you. Try to remember that they are doing something for this nation-- keeping our freedom. I am praying for all of you and you loved ones. You are all very brave right now, you have much more bravery than me. I admire your strength through this difficult time without your parents. Just remember during this holiday season you are not alone people like me and so many others, are thinking and praying for you.

God Bless--

Hey! How are you? I know that Christmas is almost here and without a parent it could be rough. I am praying for you and your family members. My dad leaves in January to go over seas...i am very scared. I don't want him to go, but i have also accepted the fact that he is doing something that I would never have the guts to do. And for that I respect him even more. My dad is a warrior, a hero, and most of all a loving man. I love that people look up to him, even though he might not ever know how much i look up to him. I hope that you can make the most of the time that you family member is away, just keep in mind that they are fighting for something they believe in, a life lesson for all of us. I hope your Hoilday is a wonderful as it can be! If anyone wants to email me feel free...Bananababe3008@aol.com...
