Who makes better bosses? Men or Women?
Well, men and women are two different individuals, both physically and mentally. In my opinion, men make better bosses. Men are not that emotional compared to women which is an advantage in making wise decisions. Men are more darring in making decisions, giving opinions and taking risks which stands a higher chance of success in every task. Do u agree? Hit me back!! Change my mind!!! I would appreciate ur reply.

I've only really had two bosses in all four of the jobs I have had...my absolute favorite boss was female...

I worked for a woman who started her own law firm, who
is one of the most ethics centered individuals I know, who was the only female attorney working in the office building, and who I learned an awful lot from. She has a very successful career, very close with her sisters, married, has two great daughters. She is also Roman Catholic. That's what I call inspiring... Smile

Haha .. Guess we did change your mind ..
Some men do care about their staff .. Especially those who had worked for them for a long time .. Maybe men are not that good in expressing their feelings ..

Thank you Skynriver for your reply.
Women too can stand a potential of making a better bosses. Women are more sensitive which is an advantage too at work.
Some staff demands attentions and compliments from their bosses which most men bosses failed to do because to men caring for staff are just petty matters which they are not aware of its importance. Being able to build up a good relationship with colleques is an important aspect for a boss as bosses and staff are a group working together to run a task. Boss is just like a leader that needs great support from his or her staff, a boss cant work alone!!!

Women being more sensitive which is a mother nature, tend to have the ability to sense what's really going on in people in their deep emotional level which create a chance for her to care for them, satisfy their needs and settle their dissactisfaction at work. This is an important element in strengthening their ties which makes it easier for a boss to delegate the task to his or her staff.

Guess.....men bosses need to start caring about their staff!!!

To me it really depends on the person .. Some guys are great but some are really losers. Some women can be as tough as a guy and accurately make analysis before making decisions that are proved to be correct. Surely there are some elite in both sexes. So we should choose the right boss hehe ..

There are other posts that deserves to be flag more than mine.

*flags this post for bopping...*

Out of my 4 jobs, only really 2 of them had actual boss figures. One male, one female. The male boss was the nicest guy in the world, but I don't think he did a very effective job of pulling everything together. On the other hand, the female I worked with had opened her own law firm and did really well with delegation...

It ALL depends on the person.

I've only had female bosses, but it really depends on the person's individual character. In just three bosses I've had a REAL mix...

First off that was my signature and has nothing to do with this debate so leave it alone

quote:
Oh yes, I am a woman but does it mean I have to side woman??

No you don't have to take the womans side. However I am bewildered that you actually believe that.

That is an extremely childish thought that will lead to prejudice towards the opposite sex.

Hehe that statement makes me laugh. It is not childish for me to believe that men and women could both make good bosses. I will not be prejedice with the opposite sex at all. I won't sleep with them but I believe that both sexes should be viewed upon the same way.

I am here to discuss , findin out about your views and not raising sex discrimination issues

You already did. You started out with saying that women are inferior to men in the work place. YOU raised the sex discriminating issue by discriminating agianst your own sex.

To clpo13, yes United States and Malaysia are different but what we have in common living in these countries are men and women. Though now women especially in US are competitive among men but naturally women are weaker than men in terms of strength which is an example of physical restraint. This is just an example. My point is it doesn't matter which country particular group of men and women come from. There are common features among human race!

Thank You for your replies.

To clpo13, I agree with you that better bosses do make better bosses but I disagree with "Gender is irrelevant".
Oh no, gender does matter! Of course, with strong determination, anything can be achieved as long as one has a clear goal in mind.

Before we even get to our goals, we have to go through hardship and numerous obstacles. Have you ever heard of "attitude determines success" ??? Men and Women are totally different mentally. Both have their own unique characters and approach towards life in achieving their dreams.
Therefore, both have their own personal problems and obstacles to overcome that might turn down their goals. For example, women are obviously more emotional than men especially during their menstrual period. Being emotional is a big problem in dealing with serious matters that might affect their performances at work. Of course, if they can curb this problem which is almost impossible due to hormonal effects in women, they are close to making a better boss.

Thank You for all your replies.
To Hydrok, what is wrong with arguing about the feminazi thing???? I am not against any side of the gender but to find out about your views on this topic to change my point of views about life. Clearly, everyone works with bosses and they have their own favouritism. Some men or women prefer men bosses, some other prefer women bosses or some ppl cant accept working under a boss of the opposite gender. I am not trying to change someone's mind on wat they believe, believing in something is a subjective point of view which cannot be judge right from wrong or wrong from right depending on individuals.

Everyone has the right to hold strong to their beliefs but if there are better views , a better choice which will bring advantages for your future life or human race, it isn't a bad thing at all to change your beliefs.i am way out of topic!!!

Let's get back to what we have set out to discuss. There is a difference between men bosses and women bosses as they have different ways of doing things. So, what's your view?..

Thank you for all your replies.
First and foremost, to Meagan87, life is full of risks to be taken when most of the time we are not given a choice. Please accept this fact!!! If risk are not taken, there won be a high chance of success and of course there are failures too. But if there is no failure, there won be success beacuse they stand side by side. Every failure that we encounter teaches us a lesson which will lead to success. Men are more darring when it comes to taking risk as women , they are more careful that they prefer sticking to the safe side.

I think better bosses make better bosses. Gender is irrelevant.

And yes, it is kind of odd to see a woman professing how men are better at something. But then, Malaysia does have a vastly different culture than the United States.
