Let me see I got my navel pierced to celebrate my 16th birthday . I didnt take permission . In fact its been more than a year and a half and my Dad still doesnt know I have a piercing . Frankly the sane non -teenager part of me knows why my parents wouldnt have allowed but then the other part of me wnats to do it just because Im not alowed . Sorry ive gone of base here . Okay lets see -- my moms a doctor so she freaks if i have water at my college you can imagine what she would say if i was volunteering to put a needle through my body " all the infection and AIDS " --- my Dad thinks its for crazy people , hippies , cliches , people who want to make a statement . --- My realtives think Ive been watching too much TV and all that western culture has turned my head . Oh yaah I forgot to mention I live in India . I could give you a lot more reasons especially if i taped one of those conversations of my Dad andhis " whats wrong with the teenagers/generatin today"
I'll sleep when im dead .

To many tattos and piercings can look gross but a few are fine

About the prices and stuff...how much does it like..usually cost to get your belly button pierced or (the one I think I'll get soon) your second hole in the ear? And BTW, to those who have done it, how does it hurt less: needle or gun (for the ear)? Cuz my friend's grandpa offered to do it he did it for my friend and her cousins and it didn't get inffected. But when he told me he did it with a needle and ice I was like...no thanks!
And I agree with Barkid about the moderator thing. Bcz I find it ridiculous that ppl get tattooes when they're drunk...I mean...what if when u're sober u hate it? And I just want to say one thing about tattooing your bf's or gf's name or husband's or wife's...it is true...its not a good idea. One of my older neighbors tattoed the name of his wife on his arm and then found out she cheated on him with his brother. So...think about it before u do it. And also, I heard from one of my exs that it really is addicting, he got two tattoes already and he wants another one. I find it kinda funny.

I got my cartilage pierced twice, once with the piercing gun another time in a tatoo palor with the needle. I didn't think it hurt at all, it was nothing. Just don't get it on the side you sleep on because sometimes it hurts afterwards if you put pressure on it. I want the chinese symbol for "creativity" tattooed...well I'm not sure yet. Maybe my upper neck/behind my ear or on my lower torso. And thanks Jenos, I'll tell him that. I bet there won't be any kissing for a little bit..haha

This topic is funny because me and a friend had a discussion on this the other day. We were joking and saying that there should be a job position in every tattoo/piercing parlor that consists of a sober guy/gal that is kind of like a moderator. If you stumble in hammered and say "Yoush need to give me a tattoo of my girlfriend's name righ here!" the tatto artist will generally comply without asking questions, but the moderator would step in and say "hey guy, I know you are drunk and you love this girl, but have you considered that in 6 months she may be banging your best friend or your co worker?". Also when girls come in to get their tongue pierced he would say "Not to be rude or anything, but do you know what guys think girls pierce their tongue for? You might want to make sure you are real into giving head before you committ to this piercing". Lastly he could help out with people that bring in drawings to get tattoos of or people that let the tattoo artist just do their own art by letting them know "Hey dude, this is a neat picture and all but this bit right here is awfully lame, are you going to think it's cool in the mirror every day for the next 60 years? I thought not, you might want to leave that out of the tattoo." I don't know, I just found that amusing. I myself have a tattoo of some japanese kanji on my right arm in the regular spot, it is black with dark blue trim and it means "intense" in japanese. I got it because it looked neat and it means something to me as far as my life goes and my martial arts training, although I don't really do that anymore I still love the tattoo and I plan on getting more work done on it soon. Oh yeah, a warning to those of you that are not pierced or tatted, it is very addictive, once you get one you always want more and it can get expensive. I also don't recommend ever doing yourself or your buddies, as I've seen and heard some horror stories with mistakes, infection, etc. Good luck!

i think it depends on you. Its your body do what you want as long as your not hurting anybody else. i have a tattoo and i love it ! I like my upper ear piercings too they let me express my self. It only hurts for a minute :P
That might not make any sense but right now I'm too tired to explain it to you or to care .......

I'm not sure about the tattoo (or however u spell it) anymore bcz I'm terrified of needles and bcz I don't want to get something I'll regret later which is kinda hard since...I know I'm kinda immature right now and when I'm more "mature" I may not like it so...its kinda hard to decide whether to get one or not (I agree wit u calcoastsurfer). But I'm not gonna worry about that since I'm not gonna get it till I'm older.

I think the thing is that adults see piercings in "weird" spots and tattoes as something "cheap" people do. You have to admit that a lot of the people who have loads of piercings and tattos aren't "model" kids and a lot of them want it for the shock factor. That said, I personally don't really like loads of piercings or tattoes but hey, if you want too...just make sure the people do it right! I knew this one woman in Mexico who had these tattoes done on the beach and she ended up really unhappy because the guy did more than she wanted but she didn't speak enought Spanish to stop him in time.

My friend's cousin went on the school Europe trip and got a shamrock tattoed on his butt. The night he came back she said the whole family went out for dinner and he showed them all his tattoo in the restaurant. I want a shamrock on my ***....

A friend of mine has a lip ring, nose ring, and tons of earrings, and she is only 13. I think that is a bit much for her age, but she really likes them and is planning to pierce more. My aunt has a tattoo and belly button ring, and my 15-year-old cousin got a tatoo on her lower stomach for her birthday. Is it sad that I don't even have my ears pierced anymore? (I had them pierced but the back part was too small and burrowed under my skin, and then I had to have it removed from my puffed earlobe. I've been thinking about getting them re-pierced, and I guess I eventually will. I don't feel like dealing with more possible infections, etc. right now. Maybe this summer.)

I have a tattoo. It only hurt the first 15 minutes, it's not that painful. Getting my ear cartilage hurt even more.

The only thing that hurts is the healing, by just piercing it you feel nothing at all.

I heard tattoes are super super painful because its like a needle poking you millions of times over and over. In that movie The New Guy (lol) he gets a tattoo from melting like a plastic comb on his arm and my dad said it really does work so I guess that would be less painful... I'd get a tattoo if I could think of something that I wouldn't think was stupid in 5 years. If I did get one I'd get Woodstock like on the back of my neck or behind my ear. I like that little birdie.

I already told my mom I was gonna pierce my belly button when I turned 18, she just rolled her eyes at me. Cuz the good thing is..I will already be in Collage. I was thinking about getting it as soon as I graduated high school and went away (I'll graduate when I'm 17) until I learned from my cousin u need to be 18 to get it or have a parent/guardian sign the papers. Which is stupid to me...but oh well -_-'
