You ever take the time to think old people suck? I know I have. There are some old guys out there who hit on teenage girls who deserve no respect. Sure they are our elders and if you like being molested go ahead respect them.

I'm saying respect who you want, respecting your elders is a scam.

There are some old people I respect, but most of them I don't.

I don't believe that crap. My mother is such a ******* racsist, it's not even funny. I mean, she's EXTREME. She doesn't deserve respect for behavior like dissing other races. Or for throwing temper-tantrums like a squalling baby even though SHE'S the parent, and SHOULD be setting an example.

Just because you are elderly does NOT mean that you command respect. Common courtesy perhaps, but being old does not make you "all-knowing" and wise.

Besides, let's face it: most of the damamge done to the earth has been done by the last generation: OUR PARENTS.

I don't know bout y'all, but I am NOT looking forward to having to clean up THEIR mess.

Well no one deserves respect just because they are older.

But that doesn't necessarily give you the right to disrepect them either.

To all of those that say that respect should be earned: How do you earn your respect then?

I think respect should only be given to those who deaserve it, whether or not they're our elders. We arent forced to respect our peers and vice versa!

Yeah my bad... NO, Respect should be given automatically, I shouldn't have to earn it, I should maintain it.

I agree. I strictly believe that you must give respect to earn it. That mean that if someones mean to me, i do the same. It kinda seems like most elders i know are really mean!

I believe you should respect your elders because in the bible it says that you will have longer days on the earth. If and elder is doing wrong believe in god because he will take care of that elderly person because scaming on a teenage girl is soooo wrong if your about 90 and kneeling over

Xia, I believe you misread that. One of the other members said that respect should be earned and he was saying no to that. He just forgot his apostrophe after the no. Or so I believe.

Every one whould have respect for the aged. They have little else to look forward to.

Well, he says he wants to maintain respect and not have to earn it. But if he's not earning it, that implies that he's automatically been given it. But he's against automatically giving respect. Hence, contradictory.

I really don't see how it is. He's saying that he shouldn't have to earn respect, just maintain it.So please show me how he's contradicting himself.

That's a little contradictory. Just reread it for a minute.

I think that Older people don't realize some of the things they do. They be going through Alzheimers even and really don't know. They are really in a delicate state of mind. But not completely oblivious to things. We should respect them, they are so much wiser than we are and know so much. They lived a rough life considering the time they want through. With all the wars and everything. I believe they deserve respect. Imagine what they go through or what they went through. Just have a heart and respect.

old people should give you the same respect they demand of you.

someone said that i don't remember who...

minus the "old people" part

my friend's old geezer neighbor yelled to "shut the fu*k up you little chicken sh*ts" to us when his band was playing one time. some old people are nice then some are just bitter.

I respect my friends grandparents (They're awesome) And my grandmother on my mom's side. After my dad died, My other grandma basically shunned us. She died four years after my dad and we didn't find out until five months later.

I couldn't even call her 'grandma' when she was alive. The only memory I even have with her in it was being at her house when I was four with my brother, petting one of her cats and watching Michael Jackson on TV. I remember her foot being in the way. That's all.

Well, Im glad that it may SEEM that way, but no. I acatually respect someone more when they disagree, thereby showing they have their own opinions they are willing to stick by. I only lose respect for someone when they truly deserve it. And not over petty arguments or things like that. Kay? Kay...

Try NOT just assuming things ok? (No that was not disrespectful. It was a comment that you may want to take to mind....)
