I miss my mom everyday. College can really show you just how much you miss a person. Anyone else miss their mom?

(Yes, I know that that is extraordinarily cheesy, but I wanted a thread to counter the "I hate my mom" movement.)

P.S. These are our birthmoms/adopted moms/foster Moms/Other RL moms, not our YNmoms. Please don't talk about how much you miss your YN mom.

I miss my family in general, although I suppose I am closest to my mom. I didn't think it would be a problem living only about 80 miles away at college, but in recent weeks, it's gotten really hard. I think the novelty of college finally wore off and now it's just getting boring.

Well, I haven't been away from home much, but my sister has. She moved out to California to go to a university and we live in Arizona. When she lived here she would rarely be home and see my mom. But now she calls her a lot and comes home as soon as she gets a chance. You can tell that she really misses her. She'll even call at odd hours of the night just because she wants someone from the house at the other end of the phone. I have yet to experience being homesick myself.

well im only 16 so i still live with my mom, and when i go to stay with friends for more than 2 or 3 days i start to miss her.... you can call it being homesick cuz it is, i love my mom to death......even through the ups and downs. i wish we were best friends but we arent and i can work up to that. and i know when i go off to college in 2-3 years that ill miss her dearly cuz im going to california hopefully but ill call her everyday and visit as much as i can. so ppl dont take your family for granted and cherish evey moment you have with not just your mom but your whole family...

Quick note on my mom:

I refuse to miss her, because she's a horrible person.

I don't know if this counts but I miss who my mom used to be, or who I thought she was.

I live with my mom. She went away this weekend and I missed her just being here. She bugs the living daylights out of me a lot of the time, but when all's said and done, I'm glad I still live at home.
