Well, not yet.
Al Edwards, a Democrat from Houston, filed legislation this week that would prohibit high school cheerleaders in Texas from doing any controversial, obscene and sexually-suggestive dance moves.
How funny, I thought.
It's pretty ridiculous, too, but, eh, what do you expect from politicians.
Sigh.
This should spark a discussion for sure...yeah, there are some pretty hot dance moves that uh, yeah, basically look like soft-core porn rehearsals, but I don't think they should be "banned."

How is what the cheerleaders are doing any different than the women who work at Hooters, the showing of hip-hop videos ,with what most would call erotic dancing, videos that are shown on T.V. stations such as nickelodion and The-N. These T.V. programs are watched mainly by younger kids and teens. The same age group that is exposed to this "erotic" group of cheerleaders. I compared the cheerleaders to things I consider to be "soft-core" material. In today's society, kids and teens are acting a lot more "sexier" in general mainly because of today's fashion, media and music videos. My point is if you're going to attempt to ban something you consider "inappropriate" such as cheerleading, why allow Hooters, "raunchy" music videos, adult video stores, strip clubs, etc. Things I think should be higher on your priority list since most of the above listed things are more "erotic" and "dirty" than cheerleading.

I go to school in TX and that was stupid. I am on my schools dance squad and out uniform are much larger than the bikinis you see everyday on the beach. The dance moves we do during games and competition are much calmer than you'd see at any club. As for me and my friends we like being sexy and I'm not talking about going overboard w/ bikini sytle suits or stripper moves but just being sexy and having fun makes school bearable for us and fun for the crouds.

did ya'll know that in the state of texas the house of representatives and senate spent 4 1/2 hours of almost every day debating this issue rather than using the time wisely to take care deficit, health care, budget, or school finance. 50,000 teachers are needed in the state of texas!! how does that make sense???????

that's why they have cheerleading coaches. i'm sure they have school administrators who don't let it get THAT out of control. i speak from personal experience cuz i'm a cheerleader and that's just freakin stupid. they just wanna control EVERYTHING don't they.

Haha... Funny, funny, funny. Texas cracks me up. Ahem... texans crack me up, not the state itself. If one doesn't like what the cheerleaders are doing, he can close his eyes.
Why are we dying to live, if we're just living to die?

Why does anyone care what the cheerleaders do? Unless they are competition cheerleaders, I kinda think the whole point is for them to be "sexually suggestive." I mean, what would high-school be if everyone didn't think the cheerleaders "put out"?
