NO ONE WANTS TO HAVE AN ABORTION.. its a need not a want.

You’re making it sound like people don't "want" what they "need."

If you "needed" some water, don't you think that you "wanted" some water, as well? There is a distinct connection between the two words, Bauhaus.

Anyway, your statement is just plan false: There is clearly a “want” for abortion because abortions happen (people always do what they "want" - that's a key characteristic of a "choice"). Now, even if there were a "need" for abortion, you would never be able to prove it. You can easily prove a "want", but it is hard (sometimes impossible) to prove a "need."

Instead of focusing on abortion maybe we should focus on the people having abortions. They are the stupid tards who bring idiots into the world... I mean come on the next pres coming from a 16 year old mom living in a trailer park? get real.

Lets put it this way, girls under 20 having kids, it runs in the family. Look how old that girls mom is, it doesnt take a genius to figure out the connection here. That 16 year olds daughter is gonna ca@p out some more kids who are gonna have kids at 16 also. Just think if she had a son then you might have a couple young girls knocked up right before he gets sent to prison for breaking into your kicthen high on speed looking for your money.

We need to take attention off gay marriage, tsunami, and iraq, and start focusing on these retards who pop out kids. One of these little kids cost 1.5million to raise. You think that 16 year old mom has that kind of money? She cant even pay for the electricty bill.. So guess where that money is coming from? YOU. thats right every god damn dollar out of our pockets to support guys in jail, cops, wellfare, and the damn court building where they shouldnt be at in the first place.

This is how abuse starts you have this 16 year old pissed off mom who wants to go out and sex some guy and snort meth, where does here kid go? she locks them in a room and ends up forgetting about them for 3 days. So now you have this abused kid growing up gonna do the same to their kids.

its a never ending cycle.

Silvertounge:

Since you are new here, I will give you the benifit of the doubt, but didn't we all make it perfectly clear that we don't want to start ARGUMENTS?

Well, I'm sorry to say, you did a very bad job at that.

And, in answer to how you believe those girls would react to getting pregnant, yes, I think maybe some would, but mostly, what would be on their minds would be along the lines of:

"Oh my gosh, I am pregnant! My parents will kill me! Why did I let my boyfriend push me in to this? How will I finish school?! What will I do about this baby?! I can't keep it, can I? I don't want to go through labor! I can't do this; abortion? Oh my gosh, I don't think I can

What am I going to tell HIM!? Will he stay with me? Do I have an STD?! OR HIV?! OH MY GOSH! I MIGHT DIE! How will I support it?! I can't! OMG,OMG,OMG!!!"

I highly doubt that they are obsessing over their "sexy bellies" and "peeps". Don't say things you don't even know about.

Now, if you have any suggestions to resolve the need/want for abortion in the first place, feel free to speak up! But do not, I repeat, DO NOT, turn this thread in to a moral contradiction thread where we argue senseless and nothing gets done.

I totaly agree with you Ikki14Reed we need to minamize the need for abortions at fight for the right of the childs life with promoting adoption but there will always be those ladys that think "omg i have a stupid little brat in my sexy belly and im gonna get fat i cant have that that would be social suicide my peeps will stop worshiping me and i will have to sit with the nerdy fugly retarded things that call themselves human at lunch" they dont care if they murder someone and they alson say "it is not as good sex with a condom and if i take birth control my mom might find out" so yes your ideas are gret and i am fro doing all that but we america will always murder thousands of kids each year becuase of those people that dont care if that makes sence at all (sorry i cant spell Frown)

Well, looks like I'm under a rock as well. I didn't think that many schools would be foolish enough to teach their sed-ed classes seperatly. Maybe your school is a rarity, I doubt mine could be the unorthodox case, we're terrified of controversy.

Well, in Fairfax, where I am, FLE is ALWAYS taught seperately. In fact, we aren't allowed to talk about anything outside of the class (but, everyone does) and no male teachers can teach girls and visa-versa.

I think we SHOULD teach it co-ed, but I didn't know that they were already doing that elsewhere. Sorry!

Voice-
Unorthodox? Where do you come from? At my school sex-ed is taught like everything else-in a normal room with a regular co-ed class. It makes zero sense to teach people seperately.

Okay, I am not trying to turn this into an abortion is right/wrong thing here but i need to speak my mind on this.

well i think abortion should be allowed and not allowed at the same time. I know it sounds weird, but let me explain myself.

allowed: If a woman has been raped, whether it be by some random smuck, her father, boyfriend, whatever, she should be allowed to have an abortion but only in the first trimester(i think that is how you spell it) because it isnt her fault she got pregnant and if she isnt capable of taking care of the kid, then why should she have to have it. Also if the pregnancy poses any threat to the mother at any time during the pregnancy, she should be allowed to have an abortion.

not allowed: If some woman is just running around have unprotected sex with every random guy she meets and gets pregnant and goes in for an abortion, she shouldnt be allowed to have it since it IS her fault she got pregnant and she would probably end up having like 30 abortions (exagerating just a tad to get my point across)

well yah...thats what i think...dont mind the spelling errors because im kind of in a hurry here so yah.........
If you post that on another abortion board, I'll "speak my mind" also.

I'm throwing these into the arena:

1. Teach Family Life Ed. (FLE) with boys and girls TOGETHER for at least one lesson, to try to get to both sides at once how awful it would be if two of them ended up with a baby. I know it's unorthodox, and I'm not saying spend that lesson talking about periods or anything. No. That one would be spent on talking to both sides at once about what would happen.

2. Off better/more affordable birth control. (this one is very general, and I don't think it's got much going for it)

3. Have boys and girls spend one weekend having to take care of a baby. The mother/superviser will be standing by, but it'll show you what happpens and how tough it is. Yes, babies are adorable, but they are ALOT OF WORK. If teenagers have to live through this, just for a day or two, maybe it'll make them tihnk twice before having sex or at least they'll think of using better protection.

4. Have teachers, when in FLE go in to extreme, disgusting detail on what will ahppen in labor and STDs. If nothing else, it'll gross everyone out too much to even consider such a big deal like having sex for a little while. Hey, it did the trick when our teacher did it to us. Wink

5. Make better condoms. (this is much like the birth control, so, I don't believe this one will go far either)

Well, there are a few for everybody. Debate, hate or love, they're there.

Any other ideas?

I am not for abortions, but I am for choice. I am very for schools teaching proper safe sex and birth control methods. If a school just teaches abstinence, people will (as ikki14reed said) still have sex. Many kids who have been taught only abstinence have unprotected anal sex and are unaware that even though pregnancy isn't a worry with it you can still get stds.

No, Maya. It's fine. It saved me some typing.

Joelux, the condom idea is actually somewhat interesting...

What if you where given condoms with everything? I mean like you go to the store to get some milk, and with it comes a condom, or you buy some chocolate and it comes with a condom. That way people wouldn't have to be so shy and not use them... It could be some pills or whatever doesn't have to be condoms. And if you're not planning to use 'em you just throw (recycle :P) them or use them as balloons at a party!

How do you guys think that would work?

PD. don't take me too seriously... but maybe it would work.

That has nothing to do with abortion. Abortion is the killing of childeren, which reduces the adopting-candidate population. This is another classic case of pulling at heart strings.

See, this is what I think: There are a lot of people out there wanting to adopt. There are also a lot of people out there waiting to be adopted. I'd like to make sure all kids get a chance to be adopted that will be put up for adoption. That's what I'm getting at with the adoption thing.

That's another thing that needs to be decided. Do you have any ideas?
