Abortion and adoption aren't even the same thing. I'm not going to say which one is better because that isn't up to me. Adoption is a good choice for a woman who wishes to give birth but does not want to keep the child. Abortion is a good choice for a woman who does not want to give birth, or keep the child. It depends on the person which one is better for them.

i think adoption is still a better choice, cause that way, the mother wont have to live with something they dont want. if u have the kid, then put it up for adoption, you have the choice of weather or not u ant the child to find u ever. If you say no then the kid cant.. its pretty much illegal. So to me, the only difference there is that u have to go through labor.

And Celtic, u have a really really strong opinion on this dont u !! but ur saying itds just your opinion.. and then yell at people for stateing their opinions..

Abortion in soem ways is good cause surely it is not right for the child to have to suffer but then again who are we to play God and decide whether someone should live or die cause adoption doesn't necessarily mean that they wont have a good life so shouldn't they at least get a chance to have a good life?

I'd believe you if most children who were adopted or have been in the foster care system aren't so messed up.

Kids don't think that way. A six year old won't go "Ah, well, I have a remote chance at a good life", he says "where is mommy?".

I cannot give my child up for adoption, not even to a family member. If I have a child, I will take care of it until it dies. I'm not going to place its fate on another person. I don't want the child to feel unworthy because his mother didn't want him. I don't have enough courage to face a child I left for adoption who then wants to meet me. I can't do that.

Abortion is a bloody, disgusting procedure, but I damn well rather my kid be dead than be miserable.

I say that living with the hope of a better life is better than not having had the chance of life at all. If that makes any sense to you...

By the second paragraph you say that you dont want your child to feel unworthy and not have a caring family yada yada yada. To me, you are saying you would rather have a kid be so unimportant that you would kill them instead of giving them a chance at a better life. Women who give up there children through adoption have good reason too, knowing that they will never be able to provide their child with food, clothing, etc. but they would if they could and giving their child up for adoption is a way of showing love all in its own. By taking the time out to try to give the child a better life shows more love to the child than just killing it from the start. That doesnt show anything by selfishness...
Run on sentences are killer, I know...
I was supposed to be aborted, but Im all good.

Of course it's killing.

I just don't think human life is worth that much, and I believe killing can be justified in some cases.

Now, eff off.

I'm not arguing this any more.

No, I believe a fetus is actually different from a baby. You had NINE months to decide what to do with the baby...you better be damn sure what to do once you're in labour. Too late to kill it.

Now, don't bother me, anyone. I don't give a damn who dies unless you personally affect my life in a good way.

an infant cant decide that either, so should we kill them when we feel like it too?

I DON'T CARE ABOUT BEING ETHICAL. A FETUS CAN'T DECIDE WHETHER IT LIVES OR NOT SO IT'S NOT LIKE I'M ACTUALLY MURDERING ANYTHING WITH A MIND.

It's MY damn opinion.

Live with it.

I know this is a "your own opinion" thing, but can you please try to keep in mind that people that ARE adopted. Like me, for example, i went through both in a way. My mom was pregnant with me when she was 16 and she was in the hospital ready for the abortion when the doctor came in and said it couldnt happen. so she had me then put me up for adoption. Im anti-abortion. I think its wrong.. my opinion in the matter.

Your moral ability to make the decision for a dependent stops far before it becomes your right to kill them.

That's only your opinion. it's the mothers job to decide what is best for both her and the fetus. A fetus is not the same as someone who is born with the respect to "muder".

That's a flawed argument and I've addressed it in other threads. I don't have time to restate it now, but check out "Yet Another Abortion Topic..." in the Government forum. First post.

Imagine feeling you are some sort of product in a flea market and you're just waiting to be purchased. Same deal.

The question then becomes, would you kill yourself if your that product? Would you allow someone to kill you? How about your close friend who wants to live but someone doesn't think he's well off enough and uses that as a rational for killing him?

Point being, and I've said this to Celtic before, it is NOT you decision as to who lives and who dies. The only life that you can ethically end is your own, or a competent person who willingly asks you to.
