I have always worn a uniform and I think they are good. When everyone wears the same thing, people have less reason to judge you. Also, some of what people actually wear is hideous and I'm glad I don't have to them in it.

this image was when my class went to a scholastic competition - all catholic/christian schools, so everyone was in uniform. and here's our uniform. it's a bit blurry, but i hope you can make out the details. my uniform wasn't that bad. i mean, you weren't required to wear the blouse and the vest unless it was winter. other than that, you can just wear a white polo with your plaid skirt. i think uniforms are okay. they've already made thier way into pop culture. that was in grammar school. i'm in a public high school now & we have this very strict "business attire" dress code. it sucks alot. i would choose unfiorms over my dress code now. wearing uniforms takes out the stress in having choose a different outfit everyday or the worry about trying not to wear the same thing twice. but that's just me. i guess soem people like picking out an outfit for every day of the school year. unfiorms are cool if they're done tastefully. but if it starts making you look like you've just stepped off an amish farm, thats where you craw the line.

I wouldn't mind the uniforms in that first picture or third picture. That one at the bottom is just awful, though.

NO NO NO!!! If you had uniforms, would you wear s.hitty looking khaki pants, navy skirt, white collared shirt,etc...uniform stuff outside school??? Obviously not. So you would have to not only buy the uniform clothes, but also clothes for when you are not at school. So technically you have two wardrobes, and that costs more money than one does. So it doesnt save you money. It only takes away your individuality and makes everyone look like clones. So no, uniforms are a piece of **** and shouldnt be EVER used.

I think uniforms are a violation of freedom and no one should be forced to weat them. People don't judge me on my clothes, and if they do and see me negativly, they are not someone I would want to be friends with anyways.

uniforms are just another way of taking away a persons control. next thing you know they'll be telling you what to think and I'm sorry, I can't tolerate that kinda of control.....
That might not make any sense but right now I'm too tired to explain it to you or to care .......

Anyone here ever read the giver? Remember when they took away freedom so people wouldn't have to worry about making the wrong choices and gave out tunics to everyone? That's what the schools are doing. I don't care if I get picked on for my clothes (it happens so much outside of school anyway i don't really care anymore) and even if i did, getting picked on isn't much of a price to pay for keeping the freedom to wear what you want. Plus, uniforms cost money, which makes things harder for poorer families (i should know).

I think uniforms are a great thing as long as you have options for what you wear (for example, a navy skirt or a khaki skirt, etc.)
Uniforms help us get rid of our differences. Maybe some will think it gets rid of our individuality, but I think it dramatically reduces prejudice and discrimination among lower class and higher class students.

It looks good in theory but its human nature to single out those that are not like us. If uniforms are worn then it just changes to the style of hair the color of the hair how the persons face looks(big nose diff eye color etc)

I go to a normal sized high school with a dress code and it is pretty flexible no bra straps, skirts and shorts must be at or below your fingertips, no clothing with obscene language and that is about it. It is pretty cool going there with no uniforms becasue everyone can express themselves through their clothing. If my school got uniforms, I think a lot of kids would get mad and many would rebel and not wear their uniforms, myself included.
