In my opinion, birth control is not evil. Abortion is not evil either. When abortions are used like birthcontrol is when it's wrong. If you make a mistake while having sex it is YOUR decision what to do, NOT THE GOVERNMENT'S! Babysitting our bodies is not what the government was made for. ENOUGH SAID!

I, no matter what, refuse to have sex without some form of birth control.

P.S. I do not believe abortion is a form of birth control.

Are their any pro-life people here who have a say in this? I'm pro-choice and I just find this another level of stupidity.

I should have been more specific though as to why, some doctors feel this way. Sometimes the pill still allows an egg to drop and sperm might come in contact with it therefore fertilizing the egg. Then this egg is fertilized, but due to the pill its chances of survival are slim and usually dies. This is why some doctors refuse to give out the pill.

I'm still personally all for the pill. I don't believe that sex should be a casual thing, but I do want people to use protection to prevent a full on abortion from being necessary and the pill is one of the most effective contraceptives out there.

hmmm...well, I think that this doctors are defenetly wrong in the way they are going about this issue. First of all, if what ever there personal opinion is about birth control should not interfere with the decisions that they take concerning pills. If the patient has already decided to take those pills, then they are going to get them wether the doctor gives them to them or not. I have my personal opinion about abstinence, and I have personally made the choice to stay abstinent until married, but I don't go around forcing people to do things my way. This is a very personal decision. You can always give advice, put you can't make the choice for some one else. In my personal view I do think is better for them to take birth control pills if they are going to be sexually active. The last thing they would want is to end up with an unwanted pregnancy and that is an even bigger problem than just a moral issue(which is what I think the this doctors are dealing with).

Birth control is not evil, i believe it is a means of controlling the population. However, i think birth control and other methods of preventing pregnancy should be practiced among married people as giving birth is meant for married people and not teens. Teens should learn to control themselves and practice abstinence.
It is such a lame excuse when teens say, "Oh, we are just humans, therefore we are allowed to have sex and we can still control it" To me, this is lame because at this stage, teeens have a hard time controlling their sex drives unless they really will themselves to control it. You should not be controlled by your body. We are humans and therefore we have brains for us to think. We use our brains to tell us how to control ourselves, not our bodies.
I think doctors are merely bluffing. They probably think birth control has some negative side effects or something. Big Grin

These doctors are bascially letting their personal opinions interfere with their professional work.
I guess they believe that sex for pleasure is wrong.
