just about everyone in my classes beleive deeply that they will fail and that they're stupid. that's funny . . . i never heard that one before . . . so what's goin on with these kids? the teachers hear this from kids all the time, but how come they never really do anything about it? shure you can help them understand this and that about english, but they fail because they think they'll fail, so they figure 'why the heck should we try?' it's getting kind of scary how people drop their self esteem like that. so many people do it and they never get help.

ahh....the upshot to homeschooling. when i was in public school though, lots of kids KNEW that they weren't gonna get into college, and therefore wouldn't try. Teachers need to start encouraging kids to do their best so they can get a higher education. I know my kindergarten/1st grade teacher was and STILL IS very supportive of me, and I can always go to her if I need help with something school-wise...she's been there for 9 years, and I'm very lucky to have a teacher that cares that much. Too bad the kids who don't want to try don't have a teacher or someone like that -rito

Kids are mostly just scared of being wrong ! I hate to be called on, cause if i'm wrong (and most the time i'm not) people will laugh! so maybe they need help but I think they are jk or they are scared to be wrong!

Sometimes people have different expectations of failing, I know I joke around with my friends and say i am going to fail some test, or I totally failed the test because I got a B+. Some of these kids do need extra help, but some need to just try, and others are just joking.

it's sad that most young people are like that. but hey, maybe you can help by simply being the one to encourage them. maybe adults can easily ignore them because they think it's just normal and they'd probably get over it someday somehow. but if you get the chance to talk to them, do so. i think that would mean something to them. and help them to believe in themselves by helping them discover their talents and strenghts. thanks for hearing me out...God bless!
