My step-mother is a foster mother. It is really cool to have alot of brothers and sisters. Right now, we have a baby boy named Angel. He is my favorite so far. We have had him since he was 6 months old. He is now 18 months old. He is Mexican. He used to be on oxygen but he has grow out of needing it.His mother gets him back which is a wonderful thing but it brakes my heart. I don't want to see him go. His mom said I can see him whenever Iwant and I can babysit too but i know i will miss seeing his smiling face when i come home from school. We also have an african-american baby girl. she is such a sweet heart. I love her very much. We are more than likely going to adopt her. She is only 9 months old but she is one smart baby. She is so chubby! She is always giggling. We used to have a 2 year old boy but his grandparents got him. I thought he was too precious. ME

That's awesome. When I grow up and get married I intend to adopt children rather than have them. It inspires me even more to do that when I hear stories like yours. I have been friends with many foster kids and parents in the past and all of them have had wonderful experiences. I hope to have just as many wonderful experiences when I get older. Thanks for your post.

I have a brother who is foster. His name is Martin. It's quite funny, 'cause he is 23 while I'm 13, but i've always been the "older" one. That's 'cause when he came to live with us, I was 1 yr. old. He lived with us from 12-19 yrs. old. I still e-mail him and he still calls me sis.

I'm glad to hear that there are quality foster homes out there.
When I was younger I had to be sent to foster care (it's a REAALLLY long story, so I'll spare you), but it totally sucked. All the kids would beat me up and the foster parents totally ignored us and it was just a really bad experience. I'm so glad it was only for a week!

I belive that every child deserves a chance at being adopted. My new baby sister was my cousin was adopted into our family due to an emergancy removal from her home. She was two years old and weighed eleven pounds when we got her. She was a rag doll, she wouldn't do anything but sit there. Now she is three years old, weighs 24 pounds, and is the energizer bunny. She loves going outside, plays with our cats and play-doh, and is very happy. She is a totally different kid now and I'm so glad we have her because I know if she wasn't removed from her home, she wouldn't be here today.

This is a wonderful, wonderful thing, and I'm glad to hear that you enjoy the "siblings" rather than resent them. Best of luck to you, them, and your family. Love, Jen.

Your stepmother is doing a wonderful thing. Maybe one day you can be a foster parent too. There are so many little children like Angel who need the help of warm, caring people with open and loving hearts. I know this sounds sappy but don't ever forget that you can make a difference. Thanks for your post.
