bizpa...a lot of the time judges don't care about making sure the evidence is real. They believe that the evidence is there and so it MUST be real. Doesn't mean to say it is.

Sorry for the response delay. All of my suggestions required some sort of laws or regulations being changed. For the one you questioned (about public torture to discourage crime), it was the constitution that would need to be changed.

No one ever said that jail was foolproof, but neither is the death penalty. A lot of people are convicted and sentenced to the death penalty when they're completely innocent.

Because liberal they will get out on a technicallity,or have a massive appeal with high priced lawers,or be sent to a mental hostpital where they will escape or have a better life than they deserve and that is why, jail isnt foolproof.

There are tons of people in jail that if not in jail, would be harming people, but they're not, because they're in jail. So why aren't they getting the death penalty? I know, because people aren't going to be hurting people out on the streets if they're in jail. So why are we still killing people?

The Death Penatly is reserved for someone who will continue to harm others, and the Death Penalty is the only way to keep others safe. If this person murdered his own cousin and her children, they could be capable of murdering anyone else. Yes, this man deserves the Death Penalty, I just don't know why it didn't happen sooner....

I do not believe in the death penalty. I believe that when people do stupid things they have a reason. It may not be a very good reason but, its a reason none the less. I think that we need to take in to considertion that there is sick people in the world. If I am the only person in this world that doesnt believe in the death penalty so be it but, its wrong. The person who committed the crime has a family too. And dont you think that they will be missed even tho they committed a crime?

First you say a con for the death penalty is that it may come under cruel and unusual punishment....which is stated illegal in the constituition, but then you go and suggest we should torture them publicly. You are contradicting yourself because doesn't that come under cruel and unusual punishment?

I do believe in the death penalty. I think that someone who committed horrible murder basically, deserves to die. I realize that this is a very controversial issue, but if you look into some of the ways these men/women killed others, I can't see how someone would want them to stay alive. I can see how people don't agree w/ the death penalty, but that is just my opinion!

I totally believe in the death penalty.....an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and a life for a life.
Why should murderers be allowed to live in prison, while their victims are lying in cold graves and the victims friends and families are left behind to grieve and try to cope? Taxpayers have to foot the bill to keep these low lifes in prison -- they can eat, sleep, watch TV, listen to music, work-out, play on computers, and socialize with others.
Can their victims do any of these things.....ever again?

I believe in the death penalty, but I also believe in letting a person sit in jail for a long tome to think about their actions. I believe that the people who aided in committing that atrocious act of terrorism on September 11th should get the death penalty. I have very conflicting views because while I do believe in the death penalty, I also think that no one should play God: so therefore you can't take away a life that isn't yours.

quote: According to God's law, captial punishment (death penalty) is legal. Gen. 9:5-6
What about Exodus 20:13? (Hint: "Thou shalt not kill") Papal decree goes along with protecting the sanctity of human life

pros:
-capital punishment gets rid of the person, as locking them up and keeping them alive makes them a burden to society. -the person will never be able to hurt anyone again
cons:
-killing someone is inhumane -capital punishment does not seem to discourage others from commiting crimes as no one expects to be caught -it may qualify as "cruel and unusual punishment", which violates our constitution
possible suggestions:
-if one goes so far as to kill another in order to discourage crime, why not torture the convicted publicly? wouldn't that discourage crime more than some private execution? -lock the person up for life, it stops them from hurting people. unfortunately, it drains money. -try and educate the person and let then release them. if the education succeeds, they'll be helping the country again. if it fails.....
*when i look at these pros, cons, and suggestions, i decide that capital punishment is bad but can't really come up with an alternative. does anyone have anything to add to this?

the way i see the death penalty is that theyre stopping someone from harming someone else. now i know killing ANYONE is bizarre but it hink when they are criminal if they have a just cause...then its what they get. for example if a mad muders 5 people...hes just tooken away 5 lives...why shouldn't his be taken away too? i think that it should be definately just...and they should make sure that the person deserves the cause...lyk they shud see if maybe heling/conseling or sumthin helps then enuff that they dont kill anymore...but if they do..then they shuld die too. thats just my opinion tho
