I think the death penalty is a bad penalty. I think it really depends on what u do i think if u murder a minor or if u kill a certain amount of people u should get the death penalty? Somebody answer me this how do u get the death penalty???

I actually prefer a sentence of life in jail rather than a death sentence. In this way, the people are punished more so. If they're killed, then they're put out of their misery. If they're stuck in prison, they're alive yet unable to truly live.

Serial killers who murder and rape over and over again aren't making mistakes. They could be just mean, badass, selfish, mofos or have a pathological tendency towards liking violence and killing, and not having any conscience to stop them from doing it.

But I bet people in the future are gonna look back on the death penalty and think of it as just barbaric and ridiculous. It's not that hard to keep a guy in jail for the rest of his life. And it costs money, but they should just be kept busy with work producing things.

I am partially for the Death Penalty, although it depends on what crime the person commited. A person who created a Homicide for example- would you really want them to still be alive?

By the way Musicislife57, thank you for giving me a place to state my opinions, but you probably shouldn't post in threads that are almost three months dead. ^_^ Just some advice.

I'm not a huge supporter of the death penalty and i'm not really for it in anyway. i do, however, think the death penalty shouldn't be so freely issued. i think that the guidelines should be alot stricker. i think people should only be sentenced to death if they've commited a mass murder type thing. yeah i know i sound like i don't know alot. and i really don't know that much specifically, but i know that some people who have been sentenced to death in the past wasn't, in my opinion, just. in the case of the Oaklahoma city bombing... i think it was just for Timothy McVey to be sentenced to death. that's just my opinion. i think the death penalty is ok in some situations. however, it is a "privlage" and privlages come with responsibilities.

Yea, killing someone just because they've made mistakes isn't right. The one time I think the death penalty is alright is if the criminal is a threat to other people in jail. For instance, if he/she is killing other inmates, or killing the guards. Because if that was happening, there would be more deaths due to keeping this person alive then there would have been if he was just killed through the death penalty.

im totally against the death penalty...when the he!! did we get permission to pretend to be God and kill people...no sirree im totally against it and BUSH...our wonderfully wonderful (note the sarcasm) president killed over 200 people by the death penalty while he was govener of texas.there were 3 executions a week. and now hes killing people over seas..hes on a roll.

i think we should bring back public hangings, or at least public executions. you could probably charge a little admisions fee, then the execution could partly pay for itself.
