what is your opinion on abortion?

I'm pro-choice.

But Kate, if her mom had gotten an abortion, the woman wouldn't have known. I mean it's not like the fetus is thinking "Oh darn, she's getting an abortion, now I'll never be able to live." I understand your point, I just wanted to throw that out.

Like I've said before, all my arguments are NOT in any way intended to make anti-abortionists have an abortion themselves; I'm simply trying to make people see the other side and accept that women should have the choice.

I'm against abortion in, even in the case of rape. I don't think it's fair to kill the child for it's father's crime. There was a woman who came to talk at our school and told us she was a child of a rape. Her mother did not have an abortion, even though it was legal, and instead put her up for adoption. She says that she lead a compleetly normal life, and is incredibly thankful she got a chance to live.

i actually hate everything about this idea. if you believe abortion is murder, then you should believe no situation is an excuse. and lets say there is a married women who is pregnant. she comes to find out that if she has this baby there is a 70% she won't survive the birth. should that woman be forced to have her baby? obviously not. that would make the mother a second class citizen. and according to the 13th or 14th amendment(the exact facts seemed to have slipped my mind) is illegal in the United States. it's an illogical argument.

My mom had me when she was 20, when I was 18 she told me It was the biggest mistake of her life and that i caused more problems for the family then anything else.

Yet I'm still happy she had me, even if she was a horrible parent.

I guess I'm against Abortions, although I see why women have them. I try not to judge.

that is the flaw in your argument, if you are against abortion because it's murder(I'm assuming that's why?) it's still murder if the girl/woman was raped, so what the fuck? and if you're against abortion because you think people should have to deal with the consequences of their actions, well I agree, but I don't think people should have to have a child to learn a lesson, that's just stupid. You don't force someone to have a fucking KID, another human being, just to teach them a lesson.

Wouldn't giving the child up for adoption also be considered 'abandoning their mistakes'

Abortion should only happen if they were raped.

And then the kid could get put into the care of a foster parent who abuses them or doesn't take care of them.

As you yourself have said, there are many, many kids waiting to be adopted. Why put more unwanted kids into the system if the system is already overburdened?

I do not understand why this topic is debated so much.
I feel like its a wast of time because it is legal; it doesnt matter if you think its wrong, people can still do it and WILL do it because it is legal.

I will reword for her. If you get pregenant, it was your mistake and you don't have the right to kill the child, just because it would be more convenient for you.

And even with abortion legal there are still a lot of horrible people who, for some reason, think they should be parents. There are still be bad parents with abortion, and by baning it, it's not saying, "you have no choice, you have to raise this kid", the couple can put them up for adoption if they don't want the kid.
