Question:
There is only one reason why I made this poll, and its because of this topic here. I want to know your opinion on this and most importantly, why you think the way you do.

Choices:
Born
Made
Both

Oh I thought we were talking about people who go all crazy and kill people....

Well, it depends on what the issue is.

For instance I know a kid with turrets. It came out when after his dad was violently killed... so it was underlying.

Some issues aren't underlying though, like anti-social behavior as depressedwavemaster said doesn't just happens. It progresses.

Psychopath is an unfair and old term used to describe people with the anti-social disorder. There are certain things that you have to be to be antisocial. Antisocial people have no conscience, no remorse, no feeling. They con people, make a habit out of it, and sometimes more than a habit. They are compulsive liars and don't care whether their lies hurt or not. There are a few others (someone help me out here) but all of these have to be evident from early childhoold on. That's around early elementary school age. It is a real brain disorder, and no one can really choose to have it. They can fake it, but this is something that can't really be faked.

Untrue. I'm currently studying consumerism stereotypes and that's a popular one. On a personal note, most of the reason I buy things is due to the price. I usually wait it out if it's a brand that I want, but most of the time I don't wait-I just go for the bargain. For example, I would have rather had the $44 Champion sweatshirt, but I found a similar one not too far from it for $12.50. That sweatshirt has lasted me 3+ years whereas the Champion sweatshirt probably could have done the same, but for a lot more money.

I think both. I think a person may be born with a ceratin...immunity to it. But the way they are raised and treated throughout life also plays a major role.

I say both.

For instance some people will go crazy and kill people when one thing happens while others won't let it affect them.

Your genes can give you the gun, but your life can make you pull the trigger.

I am actually taking a class called Criminal Minds right now and we are talking about similiar things. I chose both because they are biological/genetic factors such as mental illness that might contribute but also if the disorder is not treated (because of negliegence) this would be considered a "made: factor. It doesn't just take biological factors to contribute but the environment you are living in and your surroundings. If there is a child who is born into a psychopathic family but placed into a stable, reliable, loving family at a early age, then the likely hood of the child becoming psycotic would be less in my opinion.

Sociopath: made into one.
Psychopath: born.

That's one of the most important differences.

I said both because there could be a genetic factor. Whether the conditions in which the child is raised can activate this gene, makes the psychopath.
