Hey NOISEmakers,

Have you guys heard about the 20 adults charged on Friday with taking sexually explicit photographs of their own children or children in their care, then sending them over the internet to an international child pornography group?

Forty-five children, including 37 in the United States who ranged from age 2 to 14, were victims and have been removed from the care of those arrested.

What do you think about this? What do you think should happen to the parents and other adults involved in this?

And most importantly what can be done to protect kids?

They should be put in jail for life, NOT killed because if they were killed then they wont be able to feel the pain they put their own children through.

This is so awful...I hadn't heard about this. It's good that the kids were taken away from the people that did this...Those charged should be put in jail for life.

Okay, I've been to China; in fact, I'm probably going there again this year. But I don't think ANY of this truly has to do with porn or any other 'parental concerns'.....The government in China appears to be trying to sheild ppl eyes. Lots of the citizens there don't even know half the things of the rest of the world that they are essentially missing out on. They don't even know about hardly any of the stuff that goes on in their own country!!! Because all the political guys cover things up, like the incident at T'ienamen Square. Hundreds of youth were shot and run over by tanks, just b/c they had an opinion. This is just another issue of those Chinese citizens' freedoms (or lack thereof)I feel bad for them, personally. They aren't even allowed to CONSIDER certain religioons, such as Christianity. But, well, that's what I think about all of this.

I hadn't heard of that, but it's very wrong. It shouldn't matter what age a person is, pictures like those should not be taken or sold. Unless of course, you are old enough to give consent to a partner. I think it was right to take those children out of the care of the people who did that. And I sincerely hope every single one was arrested and tried. I would also like to know how they got away with that, 45 children is 45 too many. That's just sick. I don't know what we can do to protect these children, we already have laws against things like that. Unfortunately, these laws aren't always followed. We could have some sort of watch group or prevention group, they could watch out for children and help prevent any kind of child pornography from happening. I don't think either of those would work well if at all, though. I think the best way to go is to teach children what is ok and what isn't. And then we need to teach them what to do about it. The only voices that can speak out fast enough are all too often stifled...

WoW! i had not heard of that, but i think that is just grosse, irresponsible, sick, and disturbing! first of all what kind a person wants to look at kis 2-14 naked?? that is soo wrong, specially sinc ethe people looking at these are adults like twice their age, and even so, its extremly wrong! the parents should be sent to jail FOR LIFE! and the other people who were involved to! the kids should be taken to counsiling and be put in foster care! people who are as sick as to do things like that, specialy the own kids parents make me feel so furious!!

The internet most certainly does not posion the minds of the youth of the world. Look at me for example...wait...no...don't look at me. Look at my friend for ex...nope not him either. Okay so I don't really know anyone that doesn't have a "Posioned mind". But we were like this to start, not because the internet poisoned us.

This is a broad topic.I think that the parents should be jailed for life.Someone shouldn't do that to a child.The kids will have to carry the scars for the rest of their lives.
As far as helping the kids,there is really nothing you can do for them.After this,the outcome of their lives will depend mainly on how they deal with it.If they take it the hard way,they will have very regretful,hateful,and miserable lives.If they put it behind them,pick up the pieces,and go on,their life won't be as bad.Yes,they will still hold the scars,but it won't be as bad.
Why would parents do that to their children?,because they probably had something similar done to them when they were young,
and failed to deal with it properly.And they find that the only way that they can get over it is to take it out on their children and make them suffer by molesting them and etc.
These are just my views. I feel for the children that had that done to them.They shouldn't have to deal with that kind of emotional problems.

I guess the media is reporting false info 'cause when I researched this story every article I read said that teens under 16 were banned from cybercafes within 650 feet of elementary and middle schools. I did some more research today and couldn't find anything stating that the ban had been lifted.

Are the cybercafes you attend located near schools?

I'm sure glad you're able to get into the cafes and have access to the internet. It would totally suck if you couldn't.

I think the most sick and twisted part about it all is that these parents who don't even care about their kids, have kids, while people who fight for their kids and lose them, or simply long for a kid but can't concieve or adopt and would make good parents don't.

i was just back in China visiting family this summer and was there when the fire happened. Maybe i just missed it somehow, but i never heard that they found the people that started the fire. And the internet cafes are definitely not closed to kids because my friends have been going there after the fire happened and even now. you guys might want to check your sources....

im living in china right now and im a 15 yr old californian.... and all the internet cafes that go to are still are still open to me and my friends and other minors. so this article is just a made up piece of junk

I think it's just sick people could do that to children there taking care of let alone there own children.:mad: It really makes parents and think bout who they can trust with there children. Things like this can truly traumatize the children and teenagers that were envolved.

this is the worst thing that could happen to these kids. No matter how old or young they are they'll never be able to forget what happened to them. i think that the heartless creatures who were caught in this kiddie porn ring should be sent to jail for the rest of their life. NO child deserves this to happen to them. for now, that's all i can say.

i think the adults should be jailed for life. put in a cell on their own. and neve see a child again. it is sicka and the adults know exactly wot they are doin. the kids r not safe unless they are under constant supervision

While what these people did was severly demented the thing you have to keep in mind is this. If they were sick enough to do this then just sitting in jail isn't going to get through to them. I think that they should have to personally pay for those kids mental health bills. Along with having to stay in a mental unit for awhile. This is just to start with, I am a firm believer in letting the punishment fit the crime. I hope bubba in the cell next door is part of a inmate porn site on the web. That's all I can think of for now but in the words of Arnold S. "I'll be back" .

this is a good issue to discuss. Child abuse (all forms) has existed for long time, but noone really knows how long because society never wants to talk about. To squimish or uncomfortable to think about, let alone talk about. To think this is a new phenomenon is nieve.

I think they should spend lifetimes in jail, and let them live the rest of their life trapped inside that horrific, tortured hell that must be their minds. to know that bubba is in the next cell, and probably has as much disgust for them as the average citizen tells me they might not make it to long.

Prevention is another issue. That people are actually surprised it was the parents involved is shocking. It usually is a relative, friend, or nieghbor involved and it would be hard for a parent to actually turn themselves in. I guess social awarness is the best way. Counselors in schools who are trained in this area.
Is there more we can do, that we're not already doing....? Sadly Theres a lot of psychos out there, and they're not just going to go away because we wish them to.

You have to be humanless or you have no feelings to do that.YOUR OWN CHILD.I think it should be life in prison or death penalty.That should not be tolerated.Think of how your child will feel if they see those pictures once they are older.These kids will have all kinds of emotional scars.Nightmares and so much more.There were children who were as young as 2 years old.

The parents look SICK AND TWISTED for doing this.The parents could have raped or molested their children while doing this.I hope once the parents are taken away from the children the child will be adopted or given to a relative WITHOUT those sick things in their head.

Its one of the sickest things a person can do and its their own child.I just can't get over it.I could NEVER AND NEVER will have the desire to do that to do that to my children once I have them or do that to any child.
