different states have different custody laws. genrally you have to be around 13. they way it all works out depends on what your mom is gonna say. if she wants to fight then it's going to end up in court, if she doesn't then talk to your dad, and have his lawyer draw up custody papers. in laws their is the normal custody where you live w/ one parent and visit the other one everyother weekend and holidays. or there is joint-custody where u can live at one parents house 4 a week or 2 and then live at the other one's house a week or 2. if u wanna move 2 your dad's your mom has 2 approve everything in the papers and sign them. if the whole thing goes to court then it might take a little while. if there is no reason u can't live w/ ur dad, then ur mom basically has no choice. jus tell the judge y u wanna live w/ ur dad. if i were u i would talk 2 ur mom and dad. try 2 decide what u want in the papers. since u can have in there w/e u want, u can have visitations aranged however u want.

I can choose which parent I want to live with.My mom or dad doesn't really care. They leave that stuff up to me. I live with my mom and my dad visits me whenever he can and I visit him in the summer.
Anyway, just try to talk to your mom. Court is just so stupid. MAYBE you can ask your dad to go to court and try to file for child custody or whatever.

Well it really depends on your state, because in a lot of states you get to decide which parent you want t o live with at the age of 12. When your 18, thats the age your free to move out and live on your own.

it depends on what state you live in. why don't u try to look it up or something? I am living w/ my dad because he took my mom to court a few years ago and pointed out how he's a betta parent or something. Well, I Hope it all works out.

My friend recently found out that his parents have been filing for divorce for years, during which time his mom got pregnant and he doesn't think it was his father's child. His mother is a total biatch and she doesn't let him see his dad and his family life is pretty sh!tty. Unrelated I know, sorry.
