I toatly lOVE locks of love. Although my hair grows really slowly I've almost got enough. Adults are always telling me about how beautiful my hair is. (it gets highly annoying.) So I figured, Hey if people like my hair so much I might as well share it. Alot of my friends have also donated.

I have had really long hair for my whole life, and just a month ago I decided to donate a lot of it to Locks of Love. It was kind of scary b/c I had never had my hair cut in a salon, and I was really nervous about what would happen. I am glad now though, because in addition to helping cancer kids, my hair is soooooo much easier to take care of. Plus, I get to shock everyone when I go back to school w/ my cool new look! I encourage everyone to donate their hair. Oh, one more thing: at first, I thought it was too short. It is growing out really fast though! Maybe i'll donate again someday. :-)

I am growing out my hair for the locks of luv! My bff says i am crazy because everybody says i have the pretties hair. and it is pretty easy to take care of it even thought it is long. The only problem i have w/ it is that it take for ever to dry. LOl! Ne wayz! I told her that it isn't that important and it can always grow back. She said i was nuts and that by the time it is long enough it isn't gonna look on me ne more. I was like oh well. This is how i c it.... i have sometin to look forward to.... growin it out, gettin it cut, and growin it out again. LOl! The only prob is that the closest place to get it cut is like 45 min.to an hr from my house. LOL

Two years ago I wanted to cut my hair. It was summer and I had really thick long hair which was bothering me so much I actually threw my hairbrush out the window! We went to see how long my hair had to be to donate it, it had to be 2 inches longer. I decided to wait. When I did cut my hair I was very upset by the change but I was also happy that someone could use my hair for a wig. When I got a thank-you note from the foundation, I was so happy. Even though I was upset then, I am very happy now.

Just last year I donated 15 inches of hair to the locks of love foundation. It's really a great cause!!I really miss my 15 inches, but its worth it.What made me feel really good was that I donated to a cancer foundation, and that some happy boy/girl is wearing the wig that used to be my own hair.It really makes you happy inside was that I gave my hair to a good cause.

I have seen a lot of kid's with cancer and it makes me very upset when i see it. This is going out to kid's with cancer. If someone ever laugh's at you don't worry about it there very low if they want to laugh at you because of something you can't help having. Alway's remember your no different from anybody else and remember God doesn't change us to love us, he love's us to change us. In other word's God will alway's love you your friend Clint.

I cut of 12 inches of my hair last August for Locks of Love. When the haircut was finished, my hair all over my head was two inches long. It came to just below my eyebrow. I hated the way it looked, but knowing that some kid was happy wearing my hair made me have no regrets. I'm glad I did it. Making someone happy makes you happy too.

I ha some looooong hair and i loved every inch of it.. i told the lady 11 inches would be fine so i would have enough to not look like a guy and she took off about 15 inches i flipped but i sent off my hair and I got a nice letter back from locks of love... i only wish i could meet the girl who got my hair, but i know it is impossible for them to track all that.It feels really good know i helped with something so simple to me but so serious to them.

I have a really good friend that was recently diagnosed with cancer. She had cancer before when she was three (but it was a different type). It breaks my heart to have to see her go through everything. I'm gonna make her some bandannas and my friend and I are going to sew her a photo memory quilt so she can take it with her when she has chemo sessions, so she can have her friends with her even when she can't be with them. I've donated my hair to locks of love before! It's a great program, as is wigs for kids! It really does help little kids, and it makes a difference in your life too, helping someone.

Wow! what a coincidence. Like about a month ago, my math teacher gave us this math-a-thon booklet and said that if we raised money, and did the problems, the money would go to the "St. Jude's Children Research Hospital." many kids in my math class and all of the other classes took an intrest, and began to raise money to help kids with cancer find cures for their cancers. I raised the most money of any kid in the whole school, raising 495 dollars, just short of my 500 dollar goal. it was an awesome feeling to know that i could raise money to help kids with cancer, especially because i have two friends who lost small cousins to some type of cancer. again, this was one of the best feelings that i ever had, and next year, i plan to do it again and i will make my goal of 500 dollars.

Hey! I did that too, a couple years ago! It was such a good feeling...I'm probably going to do it again when my hair gets longer. My favorite aunt died of cancer the year I did and I figured I should leave a legacy in her name. Keep it up...peace and love!

I donated 15 inches of my hair to Locks of Love last year, and I'd like to do it again in July (it needs to be just a little longer:). It's great to think that you can help people with things we take for granted. How often do we complain about having to fix our hair, or how long it takes to brush and wash it (when it's waist-length it take a long time!)? Some people just wish they had a use for a brush and shampoo...

The poor little kids already have so much to deal with in their lives; why not make it a little easier for them? What kinds of fundraisers do they have at St. Jude's? I would maybe like to donate. Peace, Birdy

there is also a program called "locks of love" that my school participated in. basicaly what you do is donate at least 10 inches of your hair to be used to make wigs for kids with cancer, or any other kinds of diseases where hair loss occurrs. it may not seem as important as donating money for research, and actualy, it probobly isn't. but you can do both. If you have 10 inches of hair that you don't need send it in to locks of love, it could realy help a kid who probobly has a low self esteem 'cause they don't have any hair. Wigs are EXTREMELY expensive, most families can't afford them. so, donate money, then, think about how you would feel if you had to walk arround school every day bald. my school had a "hair drive" we raised over 300 inches, plus a lot of money for the cause. you should all do that at your school too, all it costs is 10 inches, and it grows back. you should really see some of the happy faces of the kids with their brand new wigs, it's a great feeling! cheers, KC
