I would not be asking for your help in something that I personally did not believe in! Please take a good look at the picture of 14 year old Tyler posted on my home page on World Talk Radio, http://www.worldtalkradio.com/show.asp?sid=97.

While we are walking in open space, driving our cars to work and back, looking at the blue skies, hugging our loved ones, sharing our pains, struggles, and moments of happiness with friends and families, you get the idea, this innocent 14 year old child is locked up (now for over a year) with adult inmates being tried for a crime for which there is NO proof, yet with evidence for one very important fact: Prior to this incident, Tyler has a CLEAN RECORD, honor student with a perfect disciplinary record, who - since May 12, 2003 - continues to face high probabilities of rape, physical abuse, and gang interaction among other prison horrors in the Mississippi Oktibbeha County Jail.

While we may vent about the frustrations of our daily lives, and/or possibly holding petty grudges against others, just to name a few, this child doesn't even have the privilege to express his sadness, his pains, or a simple hello. Instead, while rapists are set free, this child is locked up with adult prisoners, deprived of family, no schooling, no counseling, and no fresh air that we have all come to enjoy with smog and all.

Annie Armen LIVE loyal friends and supporters, must I say more! Dents in our cars, temporary spats with our significant others, just to name a few, sound pretty damn good to me right now! Forgive me for my improper use of language as I am truly ticked off at this moment and I have no regrets what so ever for every word I boldly state in this letter!

EVERY SECOND COUNTS, and if we don't collaborate in some fashion to help this child, this treasure by the name of Tyler Edmonds may very well be sent to prison for 25 years. His court date is on July 19, 2004. What do I always tell everyone: EVERY VOICE, EVERY SUPPORT COUNTS! So God Bless it, VOICE YOUR NOISE NOW!

My humble thoughts in all this although aggressive: HAS THIS GOD BLESSED WORLD GONE MAD! ONLY 108 petitioners, ONLY 108! If this was your child, would you let that pathetic stinking number pass you by? 108 petitioners - engrave that number in your hearts and minds, because apparently, that is the number of compassionate people we have right now dedicating their time to saving this child. Oh and by the way, I was number 108.

You know, you are making a very true statement by saying: "Even if he is guilty, he still shouldn't have confessed to the murder."

We live in such a beautiful world where growing up, especially being exposed to criminal cases, media, television, that admitting guilt is a no no, and always have an attorney present. Sad, truly sad.

Please remember, we are not deciding his innocence here, that is up to the system, the jury. Nevertheless, let us not forget that he is a 14 year old teen, with a clear disciplinary record, honor student prior to this incident.

If nothing else, Tyler deserves to be tried as a child, not as an adult, and he should not be placed in an adult prison cell magnified by a gag order, deprived of counseling, schooling, family, and such. This is simply inhumane to ANY child.

As far as his confession, you know very well that kids these days will lie out of fear to protect friends or what not, kids may very well confess to situations out of fear to get on the good side of bullies. This happens every day. One never knows why a child would lie, especially if that child's entire background history has been clear of violence.

Please KarenKoltrane, it is so easy to make judgements on people, label people, paint people with bad images without truly knowing the facts.

Once again, and this is what most individuals have difficulty in understanding is - to separate emotions from facts. We can paint someone guilty all we want, but based on feelings, based on what media wants us to know. The fact of the matter is, the facts have been sealed to this case. I emailed about this earlier in one of my previous postings.

All I ask of people is to give Tyler the benefit of the doubt, and let the jury decide his innocence. I can bet my life on this that if this teen was your friend or brother, you would want people like me sending postings like this requesting individuals to show support. I know I certainly would.

KarenKoltrane, thank you for your very kind words and for acknowledging my kindness and heart in all this. It takes someone with a good heart to notice goodness in another. Your friends are fortunate to have you in their circle.

As an end note, I do appreciate you as well for not throwing Tyler aside without some thought. You are exemplary to many teens, and all it takes is one courageous voice like yours to make a difference.

I encourage you to read up on the bulletin postings for Tyler, and should you choose to reconsider as the petition will be up only for one more day (as I was told), please show your support, and mobilize your friends to do the same. Every second counts.

And remember, by signing his petition, we are not declaring his innocence, only requesting for him to be tried as a child, and be placed in a children's prison cell, not with possible rapist inmates.

I truly appreciative your thoughts, and the fact that you are thinking it through and not throwing Tyler aside. That is all one can ask for.

There are two relevant issues here as I see it:
1. Regardless of what we may or may not feel, this child at minimum deserves to be tried as a child, not as an adult being held in an adult prison.

2. Issue of facts. I find this very strange... and I take this word for word from Startksville Daily News:

"Kitchens issued a gag order in October 2003 to stop the release of information pertaining to the facts of the case by Waide to local media and for other court officials to follow court rules regarding the release of information."

Something definitely doesn't add up...
So Jookly... as you can see... I'm not arguing as to whether or not he is innocent or guilty... that is up to the jury to decide. But based on the only facts that we do know of his clear record prior to this, the rest being allegations, this child deserves a fair trial, at least one where he is given the benefit of the doubt, and if nothing else, he is tried as a child.

Hope you understand where I'm coming from. Signing his petition is not a declaration of his innocence or not; rather voicing support for him to be tried as a child.

Jookley... you are intelligent, and I truly appreciate your analysis process.

If you have proof - and I don't mean emotional judgment based on personal feelings unsubstantiated by facts - that this 14 year old child, with a clean disciplinary record / honor student prior to this case killed someone, please enlighten everyone on this board!

I personally would like to know. I'll make sure and forward your evidentiary ruling as solid proof against this child.

Please, my point being, base your emotions on facts, not on personal judgment. Imagine if everyone thought like you, innocent people would be sent to prison, raped away from life as you and I have come to enjoy.

Doesn't Tyler deserve a fair chance? Do you appreciate the fact that this 14 year old child is being tried as an adult with a gag order on him, facing high probabilities of rape in prison among other horrors, deprived of family, schooling, counseling, and what not? Rapists are set free, and here is a fellow teen, raped away from life with no proof of such crime committed outside of allegations.

I don't mean to be difficult on you, but please understand... if this was your friend, or your brother, wouldn't you atleast want him to have a fair chance until all facts are gathered? Would you atleast do everything in your means to make sure that he is tried as a child, not as an adult held in adult prison?

Please think about it! Of course you are entitled to your emotions. But remember, emotions are not facts, and every second counts to support Tyler. By signing this petition, you and your friends are giving him a chance for a fair trial, if he is even lucky to have that.

I will say this, Tyler thanks all of you for just reading about his case, even if you and your friends choose not to support him. I encourage you to read all that you can about his case, and please remember, every second counts for him.

If you reconsider your emotions and base them on facts and choose to sign the petition, please mobilize your friends in support of Tyler to sign his petition. All we are trying to do is give this fellow teen a fair chance, or atleast convince the court that Tyler should be tried as a child, not as an adult held in adult prison.
