quote:
I think abortion is just wrong.

So don't get one. Yay logic!
quote:

If a woman is going to have sexual intercourse with someone without using protecting ( and that isn't 100% protection)

I've said this several times already but I guess I'll have to say it again. By this logic, if someone is eating and they don't chew entirely properly, let's just let them choke to death. Because it was their fault for not chewing properly.
quote:

Odds are, she is going to get pregrent.

Thank you, Captain Obvious.
quote:

In that case, that woman planning to have an abortion, is wrong in having it.

This is your opinion. Why should your opinion be made into everyone else's law?
quote:

Now if it's a case of rape, I understand but deep down inside, I'm sorry to say I still think it's wrong.

What is the difference between a fetus that was concieved through rape and one that was concieved through consentual sex? Wait...I get it...You're not pro-life. You're pro-punishment. You want to make all women who had sex for pleasure give birth...That's pretty low...
quote:

There are other solutions to problems like this.

Not really...
quote:

Instead having an abortion, why can't they ive the baby up to a family who would really love that child?

Adoption? No. Adoption is for people who want to give birth. Not everyone wants to do that.
quote:

Or just give the baby a chance, don't just take that little baby's life away.

You mean...Potential life...Right?

Note: Finn is not in any way an advocate of cannibalism, even for the sake of upholding Christian Morality(TM), and does not want to suggest that she knows that "faggots in utero" are good with a soy-ginger marinade because she's tried them herself....no...I...heard it somewhere.

Actually, fetuses of all sexual orientations are quite good, with a soy-ginger marinade and some quinoa on the side.

Accidents happen. While birth control rarely fails, condoms often do. People also change their minds. Maybe a couple wanted a baby at first but now they can't support it, or something else has happened that would prevent the baby from being raised properly. There could be a medical emergency that endangers the mother, the child, or both if the pregnancy continues. There are any number of practical reasons why people have abortions. And it's these reasons that are most behind my decision to be pro-choice. I don't like abortions any more than the next person (assuming said person isn't a serial killer), but they can be and sometimes are necessary. Even if they weren't, the mother's right to choose outweighs the child's right to life, especially considering the child hasn't even been born yet and therefore does not possess that right.

Besides, abortions past the first trimester are illegal. Nobody can have a (legal) abortion after nine months of pregnancy. Generally, it's three or less, and many times, abortions are performed before the fetus has even matured to the point of being recognizable as a human. Of course, the only things you ever hear about are partial-birth abortions, but that's just a result of anti-abortion propaganda. You'd see the same sort of thing on PETA websites in relation to animal testing or food production. Scare tactics.

But I digress. Most people don't have abortions just because they don't want a kid and didn't want to get the pill or use some other kind of protection.

If a waman doesn't want a kid she should have thought of it 9 months earlier.

It's a women's right to choose what she does and does not want to do with her body, and I don't believe something that cannot survive outside of a host body should have rights over the host itself. Having an abortion is a difficult enough decision as it is, and I don't feel women dealing with this issue should have any more pressure added on to their already tough choice.

There are so many people out there who want to adopt. It's not like the movies where they spend years and years in an orphanage. My aunt and uncle had to wait 6 years to adopt a child. If you don't want a child, someone else does. For the child's sake and theirs, put the baby up for adoption, not abortion.

Isn't it? I know most would-be mother's are often very upset after a miscarriage because they feel like their baby has died.

A miscarriage is considered a loss of a child.

Though, I'm very greatful that they didn't kill me, and that I am able to live a great life.

And that's a good thing for you, but not everyone is so fortunate. There's so many things that could stop anyone from being born, I don't veiw abortion as stopping someone's life. At the time of many abortions, it's not like there's a developed person inside. Natural miscarraiges often happen, and thats not veiwed as the loss of a life.

Abortion is used when the mother cannot have the baby for whatever reason. it's not that she can't birth the child (although sometimes it is) but more that she cannot deal with bringing a baby into the world, for whatever reason.

Anna is right, the other alternative to abortion is adoption. I was adopted at the age of 6 mos. My birth family could have killed me before I even had the chance of seeing the world, in which we live in, today. Though, I'm very greatful that they didn't kill me, and that I am able to live a great life.

Abortion is such a touchy topic, in which it's boils down to people's moral and religious status. Though, there are other options than abortion. Just like phantom said:

How is giving life selfish? Giving a life is the greatest gift you can give a person.

Not everyone is wanted when they're born.

The choice to have an abortion needs to exist. There are all sorts of extenuating circumstances. Failure of birth control, lack of money to support a child, abusive family members, poor living quality, etc. If a child is forced to be born in these conditions, who knows what could happen?

Perhaps they wished they hadn't been born because their parents brought them into a world than neither wanted nor cared for them? Ever think about that, or are you too selfish?
