No mommy! No daddy! Are these the words that a child should have to say to their parents? Nearly 1 million child abuse can be named in many forms. Most people recognize child abuse as physical assaults, but there are many other forms such as sexual assault, rape, verbal abuse, neglect, emotional abuse, and incest. Child abuse has many negatives affects on a child if not when it is done but it could evolve in the future.
Some negatives affects:
* They may need therapy.
* They could go to the hospital if hurt.
* They get taken away from home.
* They may suffer from lifelong physical and emotional bruises.
Peer pressure plays a big role in it all. It may cause a child to not seek help because they may feel ashamed or embarrassed of what is happening to them. They may even feel that if they speak up and tell someone and their friends find out, then they will be teased.
Boys are the majority that will not tell any one, but approximately one in six boys are sexually abused before age 16, reports Childhelp USA.
If you or someone you know has suffered from abuse or neglect, don't let fear of friends and classmates finding out stop you from getting help. Tell a trusted teacher, coach, counselor or adult what's going on.
