I agree with Jamaica, this is a serious issue that deserves serious attention. There is a time and place to joke and on the suidice thread is not the place! Suicide is not a joke nor a joking matter!

thanks Steph!! Smile i mean, sure i can laugh at jokes, i even laughed something that Celtic says.... about a week ago.... I forgot just what it was, but SUICIDE is really a serious matter and its no joke.. someone who is highly sensitive or something might read it and then, because someone said it is fun, they go and do it!

so, now we are talking about grammar??!! to me, that is just so pathetic. So, in life, we are not allowed to make spelling mistakes but we are allowed to kill our babies if it burdens us??? What an upside down world!!! Its such a pity that people here value grammar more than their babies. Roll Eyes

even if she weren't, how could someone joke about something as serious as that??? No one should joke about suicide because you never know, some newbie who has committed suicide before might read it and then think its ok to commmit suicide.... Geez........ I seriously cant understand why someone would think suicide is some kind of joke.

that was what i was confused about... i mean, why??? why have abortion??? i was kind of outraged with yogore's answers, though i never wanted to hate anyone... I mean, he said that he is willing to get his partner to have abortion if it burdens her.... SHEESH!!! Hey, women are already burdened by mentruation, labor, discrimination that we are the weaker sex, being the object of men's lust, what else??? a baby is a JOY and LIGHT to a woman, not a burden.

oh geez yogore... Roll Eyes You're blaming the child now???? Its the mother's fault if anything...not the childs. That is why abortion is wrong because you are killing an innocent human being.

Teens. At 12, you are not yet a teen. And just because others did it doesn't mean she could have. Would you have given up your life to raise a child at 12 if you were raped? That means you probably wouldn't graduate high school. No nursing school...

oh really? not necessarily.... because if i got pregnant at that age, i would rather have the child and let my parents raise it or ask help from other relatives who have grown-up kids already. At least that is better than killing. The problem with you all is that you take it so casually, as if a human life form inside someone's womb doesnt matter at all. Its no excuse whether you are a 12 year old girl, its still killing.

The mother didn't ask the child to be implanted there. Don't blame the mother for being raped.

It is the mother's fault, so why then couldnt she face up to it and be brave and accept the consequences?

i generalize because most people here are for pro-abortion. There are some who are against it, but most are for abortion.

if it is true that it is a tough decision, how come the result is still abortion? Roll Eyes

Well when having an abortion, the body is forever dead. Nobody can even prove that we have souls that really shouldn't be an issue discussed. My point is that abortion is immediate death and the body can no longer be revived.

When I said that, I did not mean corporeally. I meant more in the spiritual sense. We all die and our bodies are then gone forever (Unless mummified). However, NO ONE knows what happens to our spirits after we die. Therefore, you do not know if death is forever. For all we know, our spirits are recycled in this earth. That is what I was trying to get at.

quote:
It proves that we don't know all of the consequences.

Okay...that was useful to this discussion.

quote:
How would being forced to carry a child make you love it all of a sudden? All of these things can be achieved in other ways that have fewer consequences.

It was said before, and I know many others agree, but once a child is born, it is hard to deny its human hood. After birth, most women either take the baby in and love him/her, or give him/her up for adoption. Taking it in or giving it up for adoption is a big change from killing it by abortion.

quote:
I take that to mean "with malice, especialy premeditated malice"

You are adding in a crucial element. If the creator of this definition wanted that crucial part to be completely understood, then he/she would've included it. Without that crucial element, you have to assume that it is not desired to be in the definition.

quote:
It doesn't say "the unlawful killing of one human by another not necessarily with malice, especially with premeditated malice" either.

It does not, correct. And it isn't necessary. Without any specifications, you can only assume that the specific words the author used are the only words to consider. If you don't add in "not necessarily with malice," grammatically it means the same thing as "not necessarily with malice."

quote:
I was talking about an unwanted pregnancy. In most cases of women who had an abortion I know and in my personal expirience with it, there would have been more damage if the abortion was not done.

How can you prove that? Anyway, if this is the case, you shouldn't take pity on the women (who, in most cases chose to have sex), but you should take pity on the unborn who had done nothing to be put into this situation. If anything, the parents should get punished.

So, Ikki4reed, you think that dead bodies will one day rise out of their graves and walk the face of the earth? Please elaborate, I have a feeling this will be real good.
