I, personally, am against abortion. But it's a private medical decision that should be up to the would-be parent. In a lot of cases, the child would end up dying anyways, because if the mother didn't have an abortion, chanses are she'll end up leaving it in a dumpster or allyway. If she put it up for adoption, it might not get adopted and end up having a horrible childhood. There are a lot more abortions than there are adoptions. But, again, I would never have an abortion.

I agree with you there - nothing anyone says will change my viewpoint. But I don't know about my bf...he's a democrat but he's the southern kind so I'm not sure what any of his viewpoints are, really. I think we attempted to have a conversation about it when we first got together and it was heated so we dropped it and neither of us has picked it up again.

I hope to never be in the position where I even consider abortion because I don't want to do it - in fact, I don't think I ever would, even when put in that kind of position. But, I want to have the option. I think I have the right to have that choice.

Why, you may ask? For several reasons. But the main one is this: Having unprotected sex with the guy you've been dating a couple weeks after the football game is not the only way to get pregnant. Making abortion an acceptable or even necessary choice in some circumstances.

But I am not "for abortion" letzbloud...I am for the choice.
