White kids talk about how to "act black"
I live in a very safe, very upper class city where people tend to come with lots and lots of money ( i live here, but no i'm not rich and i'm not spoiled) My school is mostly white, but the sad part is, kids not only "act black" but talk about how to do so. I actually heard from a white kid once " no, laura tries to act black but she can't because she doesn't match" whaaaaaat??? I want to say to them ( after I smack them) " look around you, you are white, look at where you live, my god people" (and yes i'm white so I am not being racist.) Why can't people just be who they are not feel the need to act like 50 cent?

Maybe because you don't make a big enough deal about illegals.

The more you know, the less you don't know.

why do you have a problem with "ghetto people"? Its their life if they want to act black thats up to them. I don't have a probem with them as long as they don't try to start a fight with me.
I was gonna say something meaniful, I was gonna say something wise, I would have said something that meant something to me, but I lost my train of thought

Well I guess ppl feel tha need to do this becuz its around u everywhere u look,tv,radio, etc. Yes I am black and i have a lotta friends that try to act black but are white and it does bother me at all. I think its cool to expand your horizons for i do act white at times its really no biggie. Even though i love hip hop to tha fullest some of mah white friends do to.

o and i just saw that last post yes all white kids are the same unless they went trough generations of inslavment
and also racial profiling is a part of every day life but it really has to be extreme to notice a difference so here is a synario
There is a black man holding a gun in one room
and a white man holding a gun in the other
you have to go into one room.
choose now.

I know this may be a little late but i just reasd this and had to say somthing firstly
onelove are you ****ing retarted how do you act purple? Unless your blind to life and have not seen
that White people maybe not this generation inslaved colored people for quite sometime And now once we have found parcial freedom we can't even keep our image even if it is stereotype First with the afro and now with the clothes we wear just because we obviously think it is cool. and i like linkin park to but i still uphold my culture because i respect my upbringings because it has made me who i am if it that is crazy. yes race matters because were living in the real world if you want to go blind to it it won't help any one but you sleep at night.
now i know how to act the color "ignorant"

Maybe some people dont like who they are and want to have a different image. You can't judge them for that. People can be diverse and they go through phases. Most people stay they way they are and some people change for the better and stay that way. Whatever they choose to be and they find it ok, let them be satisfied.

Absurd
I think that it's great for different cultures to embrace another's culture and show understanding and such. I think that people seem to base their ideas on what culture is like, based on what they see in popular media. I mean, not every black male is a rapper, who talks about getting shot every twenty seconds. For example, what about the new lead singer of the death metal band Sepultara? Oh and what about Bob Marely and MLK Jr.? Just because you are from one culture or another, doesn't mean you have to act a certain way. The way you act, is determined only by yourself.

i know, i have friends and all at school, but alot of people tend to stay away from me during class because they are afraid of me. But then someone will invite me to a party, and i'll go and act completely crazy and have a good time. Then people look at me shocked and say "I never knew you were so wild", or "I never expexcted this from a straight A student". So at times it can be frustrating to find out what people really think of you.

I am half black. I totally agree with Linkin Park girl88. I don't have respect for my body. And just because i'm black doesn't mean i have to like rap music. I love linkin park, heavy metal and mosh pitting. It's my favorite thing to do. Just like her I also have a 4.0. And yes i do believe the media has controled peoples views on how to "Act black" by listening to rap music. And then there's the "Act white" where you listen to rock, mosh pit, and do extreme sports.
wow i never thought i would "meet" someone who had so many similarities with me. i absolutely LOVE linkin Park! But i'm half black and a 4.o chick. But i have a wild personalitly. by that i mean i'm sorta preppy, nerdy, punkish, gothic, and just plain crazy. People don't really try to "Act black" or "Act white" at my school. We all go with the flow.

I know this is my second post in a row but I didn't really say what I wanted to say before. Sometimes I have trouble getting my thoughts written down into words. Anyway, I'm
NOT racist but posers and wanna-bes irritate me. I don't know why, but they rub me wrong way. Whether it's my sister acting preppy and/or valley girl or whether it's a white boy acting black. But I don't want anyone thinking I'm racist in any way.
