Should the United States continue to put to death criminals convicted of capital crimes? Or should we follow the way of Western Europe and eliminate the Death Penalty? This one is usually emotionally charged, so don't make it personal.

Sure, if you have a bigger gun

bah any one who knows how to shoot can be lethaly efficent with any caliber, (though anything under 9mm is woefully underpowered for just about anything but mice) the big calibers like 50. and 44. Magnum are over powered and under useful, that's called compenstating. A nice efficent 9/10mm round or a legendary 45. ACP is all you need

Yeah that's right because the solution to violence is ALWAYS violence

but the solution I've presented is the absence of violence. If everyone has a gun and knows how to use it are you going to commit a crime? not if you have a half a brain cell you aren't. Do you think granny would be mugged or little anne would be raped if they could return fire? and the citizenry around them could open up in support?

Yeah that's right because the solution to violence is ALWAYS violence...give me a fucking break. Why don't you try to look a little deeper into the issue? yeah it's harder and more complicated and there isn't a black or white answer but it's better than this simple minded bullshit that isn't an answer.

I have to agree with amp here. If every sensible person who wasn't insane would be able to protect themselves from just about everything. It is sad that our contry isn't like this because of the fact that the people who sell guns aren't able to differenciate between thos who are sane and those who are insane. That's why many people are either afraid of or don't want to own a gun; but i digress. The death penalty is an assurance that the insane people who have guns can be justly punished for what they have done.

Seee if everyone carried a gun we wouldn't have the need for a death penalty. Some guy tries to rape you? *bang*, rob you? *bang* perform any of those lovely crimes we here about on an almost daily basis? *bang*an armed citizenry is a polite citizenry

That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard: the thing about keeping in mind that you might be charged with crimes you didn't do. As if that justifies anything.

I think that the death penalty SHOULD remain here because the murderers who do things like kill other should have the same done to them. Also to the people who get wrongly charged with crimes they didnt do, they should always keep in mind this...

man, i personally believe that the death penalty is useless, the murderer is facing death and probabaly has asked god to save his soul and so he gets off scott free 2 heaven, thats really not a punishment, but if he sits and rots in jail for the rest of his life he will have to think about wut he or she did, i mean if i killed sum1 i would want the death penalty...shoot...i'd be in heaven!!!Smile

Good, I can't imagine screaming to someone drowning, "Sorry, I'm going to cure cancer someday, so I can't risk my life to save yours! Your death is not in vain!"
