1. Ebay to YN?
2. Make and Sell Bracelets-- colors? Our town made simple beaded bracelets for a young woman who was in a car accident with her infant child with pink and white beads. But I was thinking of white and blue for this-- white for peace and solidarity with victims, blue for remembrance?
3. 1-click Donations? Do these work well?
4. Donation- Thon to have a contest? We could offer a small prize to the largest fundraiser?
5. Movie viewing-- very easy fundraiser; show a film and charge a small admission fee to be donated. Virtually free and very easy. Or BAD MOVIE viewing-- host a “free” movie but make it horrible, like How to Call Ducks or something, and charge people to be able to leave!
6. Fundraiser in schools-- school groups could host an assembly or first-hour donation where they just have people go around with baskets and collect whatever change students and faculty have on them to donate.
7. Free Car Wash with donations accepted-- this worked for my Stuco and it’s a great time of the year to get out and get wet for teambuilding and raising funds.
8. The same idea above but instead of cars, dogs!
9. Sell flowers, such as carnations-- they’re as cheap as forty cents each and in my HS we sold them for a dollar. You can do colors that “mean” something, or white for solidarity with hurricane victims. We even had some dyed blue for spirit week. 0. Sell cold and easy snacks at school events, such as soda, snocones, or icecream. It’s cheap in bulk-- you could even make your own-- for an easy profit to donate.
11. Host a drive, dance, homeroom competition, or other event in honor of hurricane victims, with admission going to fundraising, as well as donations accepted of money, food, and supplies

You don't just have to donate money, I went with a group from my church to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi for a week. And even thought we were only there for a week we did so much. Our group cleaned out four houses. It feels so good to donate money, but even better to donate time. I'm going back there again over spring break. These are all great ideas and I'm so happy that you all are trying to come up with ways to help them. But if you have time, try and go there too. There is still so much work to be done. They could use it. God Bless.

Be sure to check out the Gimme Five Hurricane Relief campaign on YN.
One of our Advisory Board members has offered to contribute $10,000 which we will use to match the fund raising efforts by NOISEmakers. The first 10 to raise $1000 and submit it to YN Hurricane Relief will have their contribution matched. So your $1000 becomes $2000 which will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
So, what are you waiting for? Get something started at your school or in your community now! If your school is already raising funds, suggest that they submit them through YN for the matching funds!

You should make one day "wacky-tacky tie day."
...Just because Stewie said it on Family Guy.
Our school has about three clubs all running separate Katrina drives. I don't know how they're working. I should probably ask.

My school uses uniforms, so tomorrow we've been allowed to dress casually, but each student pays $1, which will go for fund raising for the Hurricane Relief.
We did the same today, except with crazy hats/wigs. It's in plans to do it with pj's on Monday.

Can I sell my CD here? Proceeds will benefit the Hurricane victims and could even go to the YN effort

Depending on the type of movie, this is most likely illegal. If the DVD or VHS says for 'home viewing only' then it is. "If a videotape or DVD is labeled "For Home Use Only", the showing must be licensed or be permissible as "fair use". Unless a license is acquired, most performances (showings) of films, videotapes, or DVDs in a public room, or in a university building (including public areas of fraternities, sororities, and other university housing), for entertainment whether a fee is charged or not, is an infringement." I hope any family or friends you have in the disaster area are safe and dry. With aid to those in need taking time as the suffering continues in New Orleans and surrounding areas, I'm sure everyone wishes there was some way they could help. Some are sending $$ to the Red Cross and other organizations. What can I do? Well I don't have lots of cold hard cash to send, but I would like to DONATE 100% OF THE PROCEEDS FROM CD SALES AND DOWNLOADS from the month of September to the people of NEW ORLEANS and surrounding areas . I'm researching the exact organization that the money will go to, but please believe that every penny spent on my music will get there. Since my music is available on multiple sites, I would like to direct you to the following link for disaster relief: http://www.itsaboutmusic.com/jessebrewster.html
